You think Dr. Who is more popular in the world than BTTF???

I agree that Dr. Who is nowhere near as popular as BTTF in most of the world, but Dr. Who is still running and BTTF is not. So there's more potential for new fans.

Although in this day and age it's likely that there will be a BTTF remake at some point.

It's not a bad set for non-dr who fans either, lot's of nice parts and printed parts. The minifigs look generic enough to use for other stuff too. I'm not going crazy with this one, but I can't see a reason not to pick up a couple.

One Day Flash Sale (UK Only) MF at £149.99. Be Quick.

  • One thing I have noticed is that sets are plateauing at "a" price at n months after retiring. 10197 is around £300, it still has not increased in the 18 months since I sold my last one. 10211

  • Though this version totally blows the original away (and is from around where I live):

Not a daily deal but kinda relevant

There is a New Lego store opening at Leicester square (in London) on the 17th of November might be some giveaways there.

I hope it's not another disaster like the Daily Bugle Showdown.

Oo please could you enlighten me as to what this was?

I think I might too because it would pay off if they got sent out. Would've thought we'd have heard something by now though..

if anyone missed DBS and wants one for RRP, they can send me a PM and it can be put on Brickclassifieds.

Last Tuesday there was a post in this thread about that set being available again for RRP directly from Amazon despite long being retired. Yesterday I received the parcel from Amazon containing that set only to find out that it had been resealed by someone else. The whole set was missing with the exception being 2 parts of the building instructions. Instead there were several open and even a seled bag inside, and I could identify parts from Scarecrows Harvest of Fear and Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle. It was a total letdown.

Directly from amazon or fulfilled by amazon? If one guy returns a couple of sets and people buy them, they will find out about the deception very quickly. Surely they can then pinpoint exactly who the culprit was and take action? Why would anyone take such a huge risk?

I did receive a returned set recently directly from amazon. The seals were cut and the box was just taped together! First time I've seen this. Is this common? I also found out about the maximum return postage they refund unfortunately :hmm: They take the postage for all your items together, in my case 3 sets and just split it in three if you only return one set. Of course it doesn't work that way. 8£ for a 2kg international package.... Good luck finding a courier with such low rates.

Haven't heard anything either. They haven't cancelled my order... yet.

After reading the DB horror story I will be sure to weigh all boxes and look very carefuly at the seals if I do receive them. If anything is out of place I'm opening them up.

Anybody know if the double VIP is coming to the Netherlands?

Yes, 14/10 till 31/10. London Bus lasts till 22/10 so best to order in the first week.

Thanks, good to know! :-)

I'm pretty sure the Daily Bugle Showdown was sold directly from Amazon though there was a new barcode label stuck on the original LEGO barcode on the box. So maybe it was originally destined to be only fullfilled by Amazon but somehow ended up in Amazon's own inventory.

Well, DHL shows them as shipped and on the way to the destination centre...

All sets arrived in good condition. Seals aren't broken. What a bargain! #70725

Anyone else think we need two European threads, rather than there being constant off topic posts here?

Maybe we could keep this one for daily deals and another thread for all other business. I get that moment of excitement when I see a daily deals notification, only to be brought back down to earth when it's someone posting about their order status, not looking at anyone in particular, Seth :thumbsu:

[emoji6] you are right.
Personally I would prefer different threads for online and (local/national) offline deals.
It's kind of boring to read all the U.K. offline deals.

The off-topic stuff is unavoidable. People post deals and other people ask questions or discuss whether they are good deals or not. You will notice that most of the off-topic stuff is actually related to some deal someone posted at some point. Sometimes it turns a bit too much off-topic though. I don't mind that much, because it's not like there are that many posts per day. I personally don't mind looking through some off-topic stuff. If there's a deal, great! If not, too bad. Another thread might be a partial solution, but it will fragment all the euro-related information.

Some method to "tag" actual deals so that you only get notifications for those posts would be awesome, but I don't know if that is something that can be easily implemented.

There is actually a section for this already: http://community.brickpicker.com/forum/47-local-area-lego-deals/

Problem is most people just put stuff in the dd thread, because otherwise you would have to monitor a whole bunch of different threads.
