October 1, 20169 yr Storm trooper no longer coming up as a freebie. Was this available just for Friday or have they already run out?

October 1, 20169 yr My order was cancelled because of using SHOP coupon which was already used yesterday by me. Regarding the fact that also Stormtrooper is not more available only triple VIP points remain...

October 1, 20169 yr It will be available from October 3rd. Not October 1st. [emoji6] Aaahh. Guess I missed that memo. Thanks!

But the best way to buy it will still be on Monday 3rd of October when the London Bus promo goes live, and you can still use the NL10 promo code.
October 1, 20169 yr Probably a bug. It´s available now at most EU SAH´s except Italy and Benelux. 80 or 85 euros. https://shop.lego.com/en-ES/Caterham-Seven-620R-21307 https://shop.lego.com/en-IE/Caterham-Seven-620R-21307 https://shop.lego.com/en-FR/Caterham-Seven-620R-21307 https://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Caterham-Seven-620R-21307 Edited October 1, 20169 yr by Val-E
October 1, 20169 yr Right, if you take one of those links and change for example FR to NL in the link, it does show up in the Dutch LEGO Shop at Home.
October 1, 20169 yr When you use them to reduce the price you decrease automatically the total amount of the VIP points you earn during the prurchase. We can do this again, but we won't. The proven fact was that spending money and points ONLY during 2x or 3x VIP events makes the most mathematical sense.

October 1, 20169 yr why?Why won't we do it again or why is it better? Why not do it again ... because people got all hot and bothered and wouldn't accept the math. Why is it better? Because in a nutshell, if you only spent money during 2x VIP you're maxing out the reward of real cash. Not earning VIP on $5 is the same no matter the bonus, you don't earn cash back. If you spend all year long, it makes very little difference but if you target promos, spending your points during 2x VIP doesn't matter... what matters is that you spent cash. If you're making the entire purchase with points, then it makes no difference.I can dig out the thread later if you want.

October 1, 20169 yr It´s better to avoid SAH and the sham that is VIP and buy anywhere else that is at least 5% cheaper. Ony thing for sure is you will always take some VIP points to the grave.
October 1, 20169 yr Too late for the free Stormtrooper. That's a shame as it's a handy €5-€10 when sold. I doubt LEGO will substitute it some other freebie. Additional largesse is in short supply during 3xVIP. What's the minimum buy-in to avail of the €10 discount code? Can't see it on their site.

Ony thing for sure is you will always take some VIP points to the grave. Not possible for sets that are sold ONLY through LEGO Shop at Home. Especially in The Netherlands we have no alternatives for purchasing Ideas sets or Exclusives. They're rarely or not at all sold outside LEGO Shop at Home. Only when we're lucky certain sets are sold at Amazon UK or DE and cheaper there including shipping to The Netherlands. Double VIP plus free promo are the best opportunities to buy those sets that we can't get cheaper elsewhere.
October 1, 20169 yr I read through that thread yesterday, word of advice to anyone if they read it, it will confuse you ttill the point you don't know what to do lol Like I said, lots of people got hot and bothered over the statement "it doesn't really matter when you cash in your VIP" points. To make it simple... you should just never carry a balance. Spend them as you earn them and all will be good in the world.
October 1, 20169 yr I don't like the points thing either. I think most people would prefer a direct discount of 10-15% rather than 2x/3x vip or whatever. Having the points does not make any sense whatsoever if there's nothing special about them. A points system only works if you give some type of exclusive reward for it. For example, put up some polybags for 100 or 200 points. And maybe some rare sets for 1000 points. That way people would have an incentive to buy at LEGO Shop at Home. Now it's just: "Oh I get these points, but the item is still 10-20% cheaper elsewhere... Why would I buy at LEGO Shop at Home again??". Makes no sense.

And this is the reason for the first TRIPLE offer since years here in Germany... Because I see also no big sense to buy sets at S&H which are much cheaper elsewhere...

The points system makes you think you're getting something for nothing = more reason to buy. Once you have some points you want to get value from them (ie use them) so you're more likely to go back to SAH to buy Lego again just so you can use your points. They'll never do a 10-15% for the same reasons other retailers don't do general discounts that often, simply put, because everyone would benefit. Having spent today at Legoland I was shocked at the number of people walking round with bags from the various Lego shops, all sets at RRP! You can be pretty confident that the vast majority know nothing about VIP points, whereas a general discount would directly benefit all the customers at Lego's expense.
October 1, 20169 yr And then there is the 0.99 trick where you never make 100 points in one go. You will always leave unused Lego points on the table at some point. Marketing genius.
October 1, 20169 yr And then there is the 0.99 trick where you never make 100 points in one go. You will always leave unused Lego points on the table at some point. Marketing genius. In the fine print, LEGO says you earn partial points. It may not seem like it matters, but if you buy something on sale for 24.01 and you spent 35.99 the week before, you do in fact get points on $60.
October 2, 20169 yr Horizon Express has been showing up for 95£ on amazon.co.uk lately. Is that a mistake or leftover stock? It says toos now, but you can still place an order.
