September 17, 20169 yr Was in boots today and thought i have a look at their lego section, turns out they have had a clearance sale on a select few sets. They are also running a 3 for 2 which can be stacked on the clearance prices. I was after the lego star wars sets, but all had been sold. Only managed to get 1 x 41103 Pop Star Recording Studio, 2 x 76029 Iron Man vs. Ultron, for a grand total of £7.55, worked out approx 80% off for all sets. Be warned, that the boots online stock checker is very unreliable. I checked after i bought the 3 sets and was showing loads of star wars sets in stock at my local boots. So dont go based on online stock checker as will probably be a wild goose chase

Boots rarely stock LEGO in store. For example, the large Reading branch has hardly any and often none at all! I check online weekly and they often have 3-for-2 offers but, you need to be quick and get in before the HUKD smartarses notice! I just cleared out the last of Asda's Deep Sea Exploraton Vessels via back-to-back orders (3 per order) for £38.33 each for QFLLing. They also have some passenger terminals left at £49.97 as they take advantage of the £10 off £50+ and £20 off £100+ offers ;-) I'm going in big now on Mystery Machines and Poe's X-Wings. The beauty of Asda is that I've not yet P'd them off when taking stuff back or rejecting damaged boxes. Edited September 18, 20169 yr by TabbyBoy typo
September 18, 20169 yr Mystery Machine a good set. Box is annoyingly large for its size. But I have a few stashed. Also I have parted a few out for 75-100% profit. Haunted Lighthouse and Mansion are also good parter outers. Difficulty is getting them at a decent price in the first place. Poe's X wing has not been on my radar, I'm always a bit wary of SW sets. (Now also humming the Telly Tubbies theme - that'll confuse the Americans )

Just the standard 'new customer' discount. A €10 absolute discount can be more interesting for smaller buys. I guess I'll just wait till MyToys sends me an email again like: "hey, we're missing you, here's a €10 off your next purchase code".

September 19, 20169 yr Just as an FYI Tesco direct have vouchers available. 5 off 40 10 off 75 25 off 150 spends Quite a few items placed just below £75 so I've been doubling up and adding a James Patterson Bookshot book for £1.50 to get the £25 discount. You do only have 3 shots at each code though. For our European counterparts. Amazon UK are price matching some of the individual sets.

(Now also humming the Telly Tubbies theme - that'll confuse the Americans ) I've done the same, parted out the MMs that were in the worst boxes and cleared around £15-20 per set after fees. The beauty of parting out is that I can simply use a Jiffy bag and pay less for postage. I'm so sad thet I remember Dipsy, Laa-Laaa, Tinky-Winky & Po! One of my ex-colleagues was a bit of a TV couch potato with a generous girth and a very plain complexion so his nickname became: Winky-Wanky! I'm taking a punt on Poe's X-Wing at these prices in he hope that it becomes an iconic ship in the new movies. At worst, I should break even or even part them out. I agree that SW sets have lost their "mojo" recently so I've only invested in Poe's X-Wing so far. Regarding Scooby Doo... I'm also collecting the Lighthouse and Mansion sets. I've heard rumours (only rumours!) that the theme will be canned by Xmas!

Just as I've filled my boots at Asda, this comes along ;-) Thanks - £25 off £150 is the best offer by proportion (16.66% off) and I may use up my clubcard points for this quarter.

Now there's just the few places left who have it who've never heard of clearance pricing.
