Hold out for the $50 off coupon.  $199, no tax, free shipping to USA is "ok".  Not great value, but decent.  We have it and like it!!!

Just received it a couple days ago. Impressive!

This has been available to USA buyers for months now. Definitely wait for the coupon. I would expect them to offer it again due to the high price tag. Follow their facebook page (Panama STEM) to get/see it.

Okay, so I caved and ordered it.  LUGLOVEINT works well and if stack the sets, it applies it to each set.  For example, order 2 and you get $99.98 off the sets.

Check eBay as it could work out less than $249.99 I paid £166 for mine posted and at it arrived mint.

i picked up two sets for $427.92 after tax.    the kids will 100% build one after I teach them about the Panama Canal.

more info i learned or verified during my order by chatting w/ customer support.

• the  "LUGLOVEINT" discount code still works.  
• only 40,000 sets were  designed and packaged at billund, denmark.  not sure if the sets come sealed as i forgot to ask.
• sets are not numbered.   the folks didn't consider typical AFOL factors when negotiating w/ Lego for the license.
• my order # was in the low double digits.  i hope that isn't an indicator of demand or that 40k sets will take a long time to sellout.

My order number, a month or so ago, was 10XXX for what it's worth. Sets are sealed.

It's pretty cool the sets are mailed in their Lego shipping box. There are even codes on the tape seals. Ha.
