The Set is on the Lego Wholesale Retail order form as being available to order all of 2017.

I'm pretty sure he said it was out of the catalog for this year and was therefore done. I'll try to find a link.   Edit: link:

Probably the 40% off sale + R2-D2 was enough incentive to drive sales until it sold out entirely. Speculation about retirement seems completely premature.

Nice set for money, definitely fancy that for a personal build!

Nice, will have to pick one up on TRUTH.

I know it a different league but it's hard to get excited over this after this one.

Yeah that's in another league. The one from the battle of endor is probably a more fair comparison.

At least that waited longer then 5 minutes to release it after 10174 retired. I can accept 6/7 years!! Lol

I like the modified disc and printed feet, nice touch. Soooooooooooo NOT the UCS so that is safe IMO.

I have this and need to build it soon.

Nice little set but does the box art have to be so infantile? The box art for 10174 shows how it should be done.

Me too. I keep wrestling with build or not every time I look up the price, since I'm down to one. ☹️

Mine is loose, complete, in box, so I don't have that worry. :)

I think it's among the most underrated sets around. A great looking build.

449 pcs for $39.99 ... €49,99 in Germany ... and guess what ... €54,99 in The Netherlands. :(

But I still like it, and because I don't have any AT-ST in my collection yet, I will definitely get it. I'll just wait till a good discount (30% or better) comes around or a must-have free promo in LEGO Shop at Home... ;)

Love this one. The best of the new wave of models.

the OT connection definitely gives this one an edge of all the Rogue One sets.  though the RO ships are nice adaption of the OT style, none of them seem to be must haves.  The US pricing on this is also quite nice.  I am a bit confused with the pricing on RO sets in general though, seems to be all over the place, both in ppp and in Exchange rates.  the large sets are more in dollars than in pounds, but the smallest is actually less???

are these about to scale to the AT AT?

this actually looks closer to minfig scale.  The  AT-AT should be bigger than the lego (and most toy) versions.

from wookieepedia: AT-AT 22.5m tall, AT-ST 8.6m tall.  here is a good comparison of the AT-DP vs AT-AT (11.6m tall) https://www.flickr.com/photos/59263516@N08/16028449364   75083 also looks pretty close to minfig scale, but the AT-AT should be double the height of the AT-DP.

Looks weird.

Will definitely be picking one up!

While the at-at is not minifig scale, you can't fault Lego for taking liberties on their previous version to make it a little more affordable for the masses.  Otherwise the at-at would be a 600.00 set if it was minifigure scale.

Same goes with the millennium falcon.

I do like this set, but i'd rank it 3rd out of the 5.  U-wing is definitely my favorite, followed by Krennic's Imperial Tydirum/Kylo Ren's Ship hybird.  Then i'd put this rehash 3rd.  The main sales point to this set is Baze, IMO.  He looks like one of the more interesting characters from Rogue One.  I just hope they don't pull a Captain Phasma on him, and let the marketing machine hype him up, then in the movie you pretty much have a giant let down because he's not as bad as they made him out to be.

Probably the only set out of this wave i'll be picking up. Small gripe with it is the legs seem to be a tad too beefy/thick.

The Lego Product Animation of this set:

  • 3 weeks later...

Jang's review. Very nice looking set imo. I like the rotating head especially.

  • 1 month later...

I just built this set today. It was a pretty fun build :)

Some interesting pieces used throughout. The ratcheting legs are nice and the rotating head is really cool, altough the 1:1 gear ratio makes it turn really fast with the slightest movement of the knob. The model is a lot bigger than I expected: the head is about the size of a large apple. Due to the nature of the model, it's not the most sturdy thing. It is stable, but if you touch the head it will bounce around for a few seconds before settling; kinda like a bobble head. The head itself is also not as sturdy as I would have hoped. The side panels are attached in such a way that they can easily be lifted up or down by accident. Luckily, a 1x8 tile piece prevents them from moving horizontally.

Overall it's a very impressive looking model and it looks good on display even without the stickers.

The minifigures are nice, but nothing too special. The helmet from the rebel trooper is a new dual molded piece. The one guy, Baze Malbus has a weird looking gun and I think it looks nothing like the thing we've seen in the trailer. He's using some kind of energy/ammo backpack, but I don't get why the minifig has a piece of chain.

I think 30-40€ is a fair price for this set if you're going to build it. It will do really well with SW fans. I'm certainly going to pick some up for reselling once the price drops enough next year.
