I was in the Lego store in Westfield White city yesterday and asked one of the staff if they new when certain sets were being discontinued, he replied that they weren't given specific details but they had been told the Fire station is going next but they don't have a date.

Yeah, I believe it has been on our EOL watchlist lately - someone commented that Fire Brigade is no longer being advertised next to the new 2013 modular set, the cinema one. I'm avoiding this one though, as every mom, father, dog, cat has the set probably.

I agree. We have 2 post going on the same issue. I did purchase as an investment, but I agree with you, don't think I will see much of a return. Wait and see I guess. If not it will be a great gift for the grandkids in a few years!

Wise decision!! The market has to be oversaturated with 10197's in my opinion. I have a couple extra but I won't be buying anymore. Also, I don't think 10197 is going EOL anytime soon either, again just my opinion.
