1166 pcs, first available in US Aug 1, 2016. I'm not a Technic builder (yet) but I really like this set.  I like the pneumatics, all the functions are neat, and you don't see that many Technics with this much black - it looks great.  There's a lot of great Technic sets out this month, but I may just have to build this one.

I have to say I like this more than the Porsche

However, you could argue it's another pneumatic arm, on another different base. Quite a few of those over the years - Arocs, Unimog etc

I am looking to use the 20% off coupon from TRU on Thursday, and there are a couple of stores that have this set in stock. The set is found under the "hard to find" section of the website which would mean the coupon would not work, but has anyone been able to use the coupon in store for this set?

prices back to 119.99 @TRU and TRU eBay....I think this set will be back LEGO Shop at Home soon, @amazon and other retailers in stock. Interesting to see how its going to end up.

...missed that good looking 42006 Crawler Excavator.

any suggestion on what to use for PF since 8293 is retired ?

you can ..you know...just push the pump manually 😁

I loved building this set w/ my son. Teaching him about pneumatic systems and him actually building and testing as we went.  He used it on a show and tell in his class.
