Over at Eurobricks, CM4SCI posted a source revealed the next direct to consumer (aka "exclusive") will be Cinderella's Castle.  Brickfan reports it will contain minifigs (not the doll-like ones from Princess and Friends). Maybe a Sept, release...

By the way, I found this page at brickset. I expect it will be based on the castle at Disney World or the 2015 movie. Likely the WDW version  I also think this set will be huge if the design Is better than the last 3 2016 D2C sets. Disneymania will sweep through the LEGO community.

Looks amazing and I don't mind the color they chose for the taller towers. Will definitely be picking one up. If there's a shortage during Christmas, good QFLL opportunity.

I like the set even better after watching video.  Might be the best LEGO display set ever created.  Wonderful.  Period.

Hmm...I was sure this a winner when I saw it but I agree the video knocks it outta the park. I don't think it gonna be possible for this to be available one day less than 10188. This is gonna be huuuge! I heard people say that Donald was the same as the CMF but the guy in the video claims all 5 minifigures are unique...

Absolutely unbelievable. Even before the designer video I was in awe. Love it!

Maybe i missed it but where's the sweep stake at for number of days that this will be on backorder after the first hour of it being available? No matter what initial demand Lego predict I think they're going to way underestimate  .

Kind of like how I called my apartment my place until we got married and my wife moved in, then everyone called it her place 

 

Btw, I think this was originally called Cinderella's Castle, the designers never called it "Disney Castle" in the video

I think you mean 15th August? That's what I initially read however on one of the links posted a few pages back it stated 1St of August as release, but that may also have been a typo meaning 1St of Sept. Either way, I'm keeping a close eye on VIP release as I don't want to be far from my laptop that morning!! Just can't wait to build this set, only issue will be displaying it... this thing is huge!!

You're right - 15-Aug - just checked S@H and they're showing a 9/1 general release.

Those talking and blinking Mickey masks are still amazing to me. We all flipped out when we met Mickey in his dressing room last year and he talked to the kids.

Unless Donald's back or the hat is different...it only means exclusive to the set (since he isn't in any other sets).

I now know where my $450 in VIP money is going.

I guess we can say good bye to castle Neuschwanstein for a while. The price paid for this loss is not at all bad though.

I actually wondered that the other day.  I don't know if Lego will ever sell, but if there's one company that would buy them, I can definitely see Disney doing it.

Going to get 2 also.  I wouldn't be surprise if Lego limits it to 1 per transaction. The Porsches were selling for $425 - $450 while only available to VIPs. I'm wondering what the price of this will be on eBay?

Your being a little optimistic, more like 1 per household.... for now!

It's likely to be around for many years and I'll not be ordering mine for a very long time yet unless there's the chance of a Xmas shortage. We all know that LEGO can get the production lines going at full pelt within seconds and this is too large a set to take up space for many years to come. Xmas 2016 may have a shortage but, the shops will be bursting with them after that.

This set has generated huge interest so that tells me it'll likely outlive the Death Star.
