This is the first rumor i've seen related to the January 1st winter wave of 2017.

Sounds like a Yoda's Hut, the UCS Snowspeeder, and a new round of microfighters series 4, and a few Rogue One battlepacks are on the way..

It sounds like the following could happen. 

• 75144 UCS Snowspeeder
• Yoda's Hutt
• 75160 (rebel pilot), 75161 (tie pilot), 75162 (rebel pilot), 75163 (Imperial Officer) 
• 75164 Rogue One Rebel Battle Pack
• 75165 Rogue One Imperial Battle Pack
• 75166 Set with R2D2, and Yoda
• 75169 (possible landspeeder or could be Tusken Raider Attack themed set) has Luke, Obi-Wan, 3PO, and Tusken Raider
• 75170 (rebels set with Chopper, Kanan, Thrawn)
• 75171 Rogue One set with 3 minis (AT-AT's might be safe for a while!)
• 75272 Rebels set
• 75173 (sounds like a jedi final duel type set) with Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Maul
• 75174 Desert Skiff with Han, Chewie, Fett, Weequay
• 75179 Set with Lando, Rebel Pilot, Crewman

enough tiptoeing, I'm dropping bombshell right here-> we can be in about < 90%sure that we will get three new UCS sets by the end of the year which are as follows inclusive of price tags.

Well, considering that the new MF will be more expensive it will be difficult to make a loss with 10179, even when bought for RRP. So everything will be fine, especially long-term after the retirement of the new MF.

You joke, but I'm not so sure! I wouldn't put it past Lego to release this set and never retire it. They've surely watched 10179. Why would they ever retire the new one?

Tie fighter, slave 1 & red 5 xwing RRP was $200 and they are pretty good builds. Original snowspeeder 10129 was $130 in 2003.

Looks good number wise but I agree we should wait until photos release based on last few UCS sets fiasco.

I'm personally really looking forward to snowspeeder more than new falcon. Hopefully it will have some sort of harpoon and tow cable feature so can recreate hoth scene.

If the new UCS MF is EXACTLY like 10179 (why not?), there will be tears. Or... it could be similar but, with the new radar dish? Either way, 10179 prices have to plummet short term. We now know that LEGO are lazy so why not just basically reissue it in a new box with a new number (Technic race truck anyone?).

However, the new MF will be a good flip as it's bound to sell out on the first day. I don't think LEGO will make too many in the first run in case it bombs which ain't good for a £449.99 set,

I can't wait to see the fallout from the new release IF it's true.

There's two sets that are unknown yet according to brickset.  7 of the 9 "unmarked" sets are for the Last Jedi.  However, I don't believe the numbers to the last two coordinate to UCS sets.  I'm assuming one is the yearly TRU exclusives that usually hits around the summer.

I'm going to try to put a freeze on a majority of my disposable income spending in anticipation of 3 possible UCS sets...

If the new MF doesn't happen then OK but I want to be prepared just in case to blow a whole lotta cash on it.  

Snow Speeder interests me too.  Hopefully they knock it out of the park.

Star Wars FB just shared this. Seems almost all toys (not just Lego) had the Death Trooper on the top right so maybe the lego sets will have the same.

That profile says it's a fan account, plus there's no check mark symbol next to the name to indicate that it's a verified account. Probably not even her and just some fan group trying to capitalize. I think she actually left social media some time ago.
