There's an image floating around the web today, hinting at new Pirates of the Caribbean sets for 2017!  Set numbers 75990, 75991, 75992, and 75993.  No details about the sets yet.

Can't confirm this rumor to be true at this time.  But, what do you think?  New POTC sets?  A win or a loss?  What does that do to our older sets?  Anyone expect a remake?  Is this why the 2015 Pirates line ended after a year?

I just finished the Silent Mary and really loved building it.  It was a very satisfying building without the premade hull.  Most of the ships using the big hull pieces are so stubby and cookie cutter

Picked this up day 1 and finally got around to finishing it. Gotta say i was all for this set at first with the idea that i'd put it with the rest of my ship fleet. However i found that it looks way t

Flying Dutchman will be in the movie
Black Pearl as well
and Cpt Saragosa 3D wooden puzzle Ship presented above.

Question is which one of those Lego wants to make as a new flagship, if there will be any...

Why not just resurrect the Black Pearl (with a new set number) since LEGO are lazy and short of new ideas? They know it'll sell like hot cakes and shove a hot poker up the arses of hoarding resellers!

Silent Mary

Say what you will about the man as a president, but damn those reflexes are impressive.

Quick like a cat!

I love how that person behind him pulls him down. Hilarious!

Not sure if another BP will sell well after the initial 2 months  The QAR and Black Pearl were "dogs" at retail.

They were and are still too small for AFOLs and display. Had they been $300 sets, with corresponding size and detail I think there would have been an audience. If the new set would be a D2C Black Pearl, it would be just as much a remake as the UCS Slave I was to the regular one. I would welcome it, but the initial blurry image suggests a set that will bomb. A ship being broken by a Kraken? It's a bit weird for me. It should have at least an alternative build that is an intact vessel.

It sure is. I like (intact) ships. This one.....it surprises me....which is good.

Darn.  The set won't float in the bathtub.

def looks diff and longer than other ships.

I think it is a ghost ship. Looks very fragile.

May offer a neat/challenging new build technique since all the other ships have the one piece floating hull or the pre fab large pieces that just get held together with technic pins. Should definitely bump up the piece count in comparison to other ships the same size. Seems like it will either be a love/hate set for most.

Just me or did that thing have a TON of canons?

Interesting set! Looks really big actually. Indeed quite fragile. Looks certainly like a very interesting build!

At least 28 by my count but not sure if they are the traditional cannons as we know them.  They look a little narrower and longer without the plunger mechanism.

Release date is 5/1/2017 not 6/1 as previously reported so with early VIP access we are looking at mid April.

So we are getting a sunken rotted hull? Not thrilled but I'll reserve judgement until we get detailed pics. I could imagine a moc restoring it to it's former glory.

Interesting! No one can accuse this set of not being original.

And the wind cries...Mary

You're right about the canons, they do look different.

It's movie accurate so I like it. It's different looking. Looks good for 199.99

first I thought: wow, so massive; but I see I would have to add a lot of pieces to build a regular ship out of it, I feel a bit of disappointment right now

Who doesn't love a villain ship, this is going to be good :)

Meh. I give them A for managing to replicate the ship from the movie.  However, the set just does not float my boat (pun intended)

Better not look at the SW 2017 summer range then!

This and the Nexo castle seem to be the most impressive things on show. Waiting for the Snowspeeder but it seems it won´t happen.
