There's an image floating around the web today, hinting at new Pirates of the Caribbean sets for 2017!  Set numbers 75990, 75991, 75992, and 75993.  No details about the sets yet.

Can't confirm this rumor to be true at this time.  But, what do you think?  New POTC sets?  A win or a loss?  What does that do to our older sets?  Anyone expect a remake?  Is this why the 2015 Pirates line ended after a year?

Gotta admit I like the word Twoddle

Picked this up day 1 and finally got around to finishing it. Gotta say i was all for this set at first with the idea that i'd put it with the rest of my ship fleet. However i found that it looks way too small and puny next to even the Black Pearl. The lack of sails really takes away from it's display value in a fleet imo.

For $250 CAD i feel like it should at least look a bit more imposing than QAR/BP. The scale issues sort of bothers me, like the small doors on the deck that can't fit minifigures, and of course the small canons. And then we have this big bell on the deck that is minifig scale.. just makes it all seem jumbled. Even though i don't play with my sets; the lack of a captains quarters was disappointing.

However on it's own like i have displayed below... i think it's actually really nice. It's fun to play around with the sails/masts and really give it a "ghost" look. Build was pretty fun, both sides of the ship were fairly different and not symmetrical.

Bottom line: i like it, but only displayed on it's own away from the other ships.

Saw this built and displayed at the Lego store today and the boxart doesn't do it justice at all. Looks pretty decent displayed with masts standing upright. Quite a large ship.

Wonder when someone will MOC an intact Silent Mary.

Unless, Lego has a surprise for regular sets, there were not no POTC sets on the 2017 Wholesale form. The Exclusive does not count as Exclusives are not on the Regular Wholesale Form.

Haven't heard anything. Seems strange they would not offer a few more any only have one set...hmm

I think Lego is wary of making more than this ship.  I doubt we'll see more POTC sets this yr since the last POTC and Lone Ranger themes didn't seem to sell well at retail. Maybe sets will arrive in 2018 if the new movie is a smash hit.

saw this built in store today and wow!   I went from zero interest to hubba hubba.  

Not sure I have it in my budget or any space to display it (especially with the impending Snowspeeder) but if I can get a good deal on this someday I definitely want it.  

Are there pics online of this ship next to the previous 2 POTC ships?  I missed out on those but would be curious to see the comparison

If you aren't particular keen on keeping the zombie sharks, you can sell them for $25+ each. If your local store still has the VW Beetle promo, you can sell it for $28. That might be a quick way to get this to fit in your budget after recouping about $75.

I thought about selling off the Beetle promo for sure - good point about the Sharks!  

My other worry is that I'll want to go back and buy the ships that I'm missing haha

I've still haven't got round to building mine, but i think it will look ok against QAR, but not the BP.

I'm going to mod my BP with an extra hull part, should be easy enough.

This set is a nice BL store starter kit. Pick up two of these and you'll have about $600 worth of desirable bricks plus $200 worth of minifigs and sharks.
Not bad for a $400 starter. Get some freebies and discounts and you're on your way.

Just picked one of these up at the MOA Lego store. They had it on display and I think it looks great!

Silent Mary silently landed at TRU Germany - obviously it is such a bad seller that TLG decided to terminate its exclusivity just a few weeks after being released:

This is the new standard, at least in the EU. We saw the same thing with Assembly Square and the Death Star. That's why I'm 100% sure we'll see 160€ UCS Snow Speeders in a few months.

Ass Square and Bloody Mary are still SAH exclusives here but I guess TLG are now focussed on sustaining turnover so they are churning out Ideas and D2Cs to all and sundry ASAP.

It´s going to be hard for them not to post negative growth figures this first semester but you can bet they will put out all the stops and have fingers crossed for some TLJ craziness to help in Q4. A couple of thousand 800 euro MF sales might also help!
