80% of what he wrote was true for every other LEGO games Tt created, so if anything else Tt was consistent :D

I really like the other LEGO games.  My son and I found this one frustrating and clumsy.  I'm probably just getting old, though.

This may have been posted already but what I'm most disappointed with is the computer chip discs that the minifigs stand on aren't lego compatible on the bottom side. A couple of base plates would keep everything organized and people would buy more lego to do so. I think they dropped the ball here.

Great point.  I didn't think of this, but what a seemingly simple missed opportunity.

Bummed that the Cartwheel discount is over, since I was successful stacking it with the PM to get some sets down to $3.75.

Noticed that of the sets that are out there, finding the Doctor Who Fun Pack (Cyberman and Dalek) was the hardest to find.

They must have some reason why they didn't do it, but if they did simply miss it, that's a huge fail on their part.

I think there is literally zero chance that Lego didn't consider brick-compatible bases. There must be durability concerns or prohibitive production costs. (Or maybe they didn't want the discs getting stuck, either on the portal or in storage.)

I attribute a lot of this to the portal puzzles, especially the color mixing puzzles.  I realize they were trying add something to the game that was original, but I thought they were hokey.

Some of the vehicle upgrades you have to buy to unlock the next vehicle model are pointless too.  I understand upgrading to unlock more power, but difference color scheme options don't add anything.

Looks like Cartwheel added a new 50% off Fun Packs discount that expires 2/13. I also see that Amazon dropped the price on several other Fun Packs to $7.49. Doctor Who is the one I've been grabbing.

** Correction - Amazon restocked and now has several more available again at $7.49

Anyone have any idea what this is for? I assume it will have something to do with the midway pack when it releases. I see it all over the place and know it has to have some sort of meaning!

Marvel and Star Wars (the main two things I would want) won't be on dimenions. Disney owns those and they have their own game (infinity 3.0) I'd say there is like a 5% chance of them being in the game it wouldn't be till like 2017. I have a feeling they will be releasing a dimension based game yearly. During the same time (holidays).

I'm sure Harry Potter will be in the next game. Those new Nexo Knights as well. They will try and use their big IPs to keep people buying the games.

Anyone care to speculate on future waves?  Anyone have any thoughts on what you want to see going forward?

For myself:

  • Star Wars
  • Marvel
  • Nexo Knights
  • Friends
  • City
  • Ultra Agents
  • Mixels
  • Harry Potter
  • Classic Space

Are they planning to expand the game beyond the waves listed on the box?  I'm sure they could with additional downloads, I just hadn't heard they were going to do that.

Have we heard how well this thing is selling?  Due to the price cuts it's probably safe to assume they are trying to spur sales.  If they decide to expand this game or do another one, that may be positive for trying to bring in Star Wars and Marvel characters.  If it's not going to be a threat to Disney's toys to life revenue they may be more likely to allow their use.

From Lego's classic themes, I would like to see at least a Pirate and a Western character.

I was surprised that they didn't have Harry Potter in the original lineup, although I would guess that's a licensing issue.

I've read (but can't source at the moment) that TT Games will be updating and supporting this version of Dimensions for 3 years.  They don't plan to release a new game pad every year (e.g., Infinity 2.0 and Infinity 3.0.  I've also read that Disney, while initially stating that there would be no Disney/Marvel/Star Wars properties in Dimensions, had warmed to the idea later last year.  I wouldn't expect to see until Infinity begins to sunset, though.  I agree that they're not interested in something that could compete with their own gaming platform, but will entertain it when revenues fall below what they want out of that system.

I believe it's for the Arcade Machine for Gamer Kid.

What are people's opinions on the investment opportunity for the Dimensions theme? Are the sets well designed and inventive? Or are they nothing special?

Good question! Was just wondering this. I have every character (except 3) and was wondering if I should buy the remaining 3 I need as a "complete set" kind of thing..Bart and some flying hawk person doesn't really do anything for me.. I'd like to hear from people as well to see if these could be worth anything later on. (Complete or just mini figures)

I asked this question recently.  As long as you have all of the abilities, then no, you don't need those last three.  However, as someone said to me - if you're that close to completing the set, you might as well complete it.

Look for the $7.50 deals and take advantage of those.  If it wasn't for those, I wouldn't have gotten nearly as many Dimensions sets as I have, and I wouldn't have been in the same boat.  I only needed two more, and decided to just grab them the last time they were $7.50 each.

Pricematch + Cartwheel

I just downloaded the App. You get 50% fun packs which is almost anywhere. Where do you add the price match? If most are at 7.50
