I also received the unexpected $30 gift card email.  I had tried to use the coupon at about 9:15pm Pacific.  Score 1 for Amazon customer service.

Bummer.  My father tried to use it around 5 PM and failed but he hasn't gotten anything yet.

 nah we're smarter than that.  We work together in the same office (so same shipping address, didn't want to raise the ire of the Prime lords). 

We were going to get a playset for my 3 year old but alas...

I just opened the shipping box for my TIE, and it has a nice dent in the corner of the box.

Got the same email this morning as well.  Big thumbs up to Amazon for that.  They did not have to do that and like you guys said, was unrequested.

Big Crease and dent in one of the 3 I got too. Will check the others later.

Did you try to use the visa30 code and it not go through?  This was explicitly stated on the email something like "we see you tried to use this code but it was already time out and we feel bad so hey! Here's $30!"

Other than a random promo here and there, why would one opt for this over the 5% store card?

Packing box crushed and only a little bit of brown paper as packing material - in addition, appears the box was opened and then re-sealed. Is that normal for Amazon?

No, it isn't. 

With 2 more coming from Walmart, the worst one gets returned. Keeping 2.  Unfortunately the first one to arrive is a non-keeper.

Why don't u all ask for a replacement or an additional discount instead  of returning ?

Mine came with a tear in the back and a corner busted open.  Amazon rep has already ordered me a replacement.  Hopefully the shippers will do better now that they aren't overwhelmed with Prime a Day orders.

Having never had an issue with an Amazon purchase - for best results, is this something done online or on the phone?

I always prefer to speak to a rep to see what all my options are.

U should be able to do it your own . Initiate a return and it will give u the option to refund or exchange . If the exchange option is not available u can chat
