That is weird packaging. First to come out like that? Does seem big for a minifig.

I saw a picture of the upcoming Nexo Knights promo in the same package.

but do you know where you left your keys?

It looks like large packaging, but it could be quite small... I'm guessing it could be as small as 2" or 2-1/2" square?  Does seem strange. Is it possible they are giving this packaging a trial as a minifigure pack? ... perhaps a future pack for CMFs to prevent "smooshing"?

Make sense, but LEGO would need to increase the price to $5 / pack just to make up for the lost profit compared to current packagings

Ah... now I clicked on the video in Clintonjoseph's post above. Yes, that would be some very fancy packaging for a CMF. I just thought it was a simple box.
