Took the plunge and bought it. I convinced myself I was only getting back into Lego for the UCS sets but its funny how my interests have quickly expanded to modulars and LOTR sets as well >.< I can imagine this is th case for most.

I didn't quite go through a dark age type experience. I made sure to get every modular when they were out, but now I am going in deeper... I built a Helm's Deep recently, and a Death Star I paid 250 for with a severely damaged box will more than likely be built at some point. You don't realize it is happening until you are out of shelf room...

I agree in the sense that modulars are geared towards AFOLs and their detail level is superb. The ability to display nicely like UCS sets is certainly a perk too.

Haha how true this is. My closet is filling up way quicker than I anticipated.
