Eurobricks forum member Just2Good has revealed that there will be a surprise addition to the summer LEGO Star Wars line up in the form of a Rebel Combat Frigate (set 75158). Supposedly it is based on the animated Rebels series and will include an Ahsoka Tano minifig.

C'mon, it's not that bad. Sure, it looks nothing like the ship from the show and the colors are all wrong and it's basically a log with weird folding wings and....Who am I kidding, it sucks. Has cool

Word on the street is that it's a possible TRU exclusive, so it will live on at an inflated price...

Man, that's mean street!

Gutted, I was expecting some sort of Tantive IV remake.

Same here, just like the transporters and carriers right now...

If they hurry the release a bit, it can just make it into the current clearance round ....

I think the designers must have thought it was supposed to be some sort of a tank (it's kinda cool as a tank).

LEGO Star Wars Rebel Combat Frigate (75158)

Hoped this could have been four times bigger... I would have paid the extra price.

Don't like the ship

minifigures are good

Second that. The minifigs are good, but the ship doesn't look anything like the real thing. The proportions and angles of the ship are all wrong.

So far Rebels sets have been hit or miss.  This is a big fat miss or a "turd-i-ble". Simply horrible.

The biggest problem with this set is that we got our hopes up when we heard there might be a new frigate and probably all had an image of an OT frigate, and then this set appears and yuck.

A frigate to me in Star Wars is the medical frigate, that would have been cool if done right. But we're not the Rebels market, are we.

As an investment some have been hits, but have any of them been special looking sets, The Ghost looks crap and don't get me started on The Phantom.

A-Wing vs Tie looks awesome.

I can understand you don't like the look of the Ghost, but at least it is faithfull to the source material.

As someone who really enjoys the Rebels series I do think that some of the ship designs are a bit uninspired, however the same thing can be said about some Force Awakens sets.

That's true, but it's basically two OT sets combined. The same way that the best looking Force Awaken sets are the Falcon, X-Wing and Tie-Fighter and the new ships are pretty dull.

The image you have there is a Mod/Moc, the Ghost set is a lot stubbier.

Oops, yeah I guess you're right. The MOC looks a lot nicer.

So, is Ahsoka going to be big enough to move this set? I think She'll be a $20+ loose figure, because no one will want to spend the $100+ for this set. Look at the retail performance of IAC and apply to this one. I do want to see one of these and an IAC hung like pendulums and smashed together.

i just remembered this set was in a total of 2-3 episodes, right?  if so, d'oh.  it wasn't even that cool.

make a 10198 remake or a better ghost / phantom combo.  heck, anything is better. this is going to be another Rebels flop despite cool minifigs.  at least we have the lego vader tie / awing combo coming soon.

If you're going to start a topic for a set, you should include the set #.

We have one, I'll merge them.

I am not usually a complainer, but this set is a huge disappointment.  Could have been an amazing set if they had put the time in to make it look anything like the source material, especially if they added a couple hundred pieces.  So disappointed that this is what was produced...opportunity missed by Lego.

I'll be buying it for $35 on clearance at Walmart in 12 months bc my kids want the minifigures. They haven't missed a Rebels episode and they didn't even recognize the ship...

Thanks for this. Didn't look back far enough to find it.

Also, I will ensure I include a number if I start a thread in future.

Cheers

I did see it at TRU.  The other interesting thing is that on LEGO Shop at Home, it is in the "Online Only" category along with some other sets.  For example, Rha's al Ghul and Doctor Strange and the Tanker Truck Takedown.

Correct. Word on the street is that "exclusives" retailers have complained about exclusive items also being on sale in LEGO b&m stores, and that TLG has obliged and now no longer stocks those in stores but only online, hence the tag.
