Nope, under TLG´s fair trade system, Europeans (and British) get all the crumpled US boxes and a 1:1 euro /USD price point.

can anyone tell me what is the difference in the packaging and box from the very first series and the series in store now ? Are the boxes any different, i know the inside layout was a bit different with the first batch...?

and that is all that is different, the box on the outside is completely the same ?

yes box is same, they only re-arranged the inside boxes layout, as they claim it not protects the manual from squashing the boxes

There was an extra strip of cardboard to protect box2 on the right in mine.

just curious, why it took so long for LEGO to restock the GT3 at SAH? Something wrong with their production line?

They had an issue with the packaging, the first version had too much of play between the massive book and the different boxes, it would crush them during shipping. They sold that version in stores but had to redo the internal packaging for LEGO Shop at Home. The newer version has a cardboard insert so that the book is now completely snug against the boxes, and the book is in the lower left corner an not in the center any longer.
