Hey folks,

A friend of mine is willing to sell his loose LEGO in a superlot and asked me an evaluation

I guess a lot of pieces belong to City but I am not quite sure what the value could be and also if there are rare/expensive pieces in there.

He said the pieces are in overall good shape and whites are not yellowed.

Which could be a reasonable price for the lot?

Seriously, who has time to sort and lay out all that stuff like that! My time would be worth more than the value of this lot.

50 euros, maybe. A lot of weight but no full sets, instructions or otherwise detracts from the value.

despite what some may have heard LEGO is not gold. especially loose extra pieces check out price per ounce on ebays under sold

I am not a new investor, so don't worry guys. I am not here to steal the stage...I've already heard the story that LEGO is not gold and I firmly believe in it - totally with you in this.

You might have a few pieces in there that are worth "money" (e.g. $1+) especially in the baseplate section. But most of it sells in the $0.05 per piece range - the collection looks like a lot when laid out on a table like this, but it's maybe a thousand pieces tops. _IF_ you manage to sell each and every piece individually, you might get up to $50 for it, but as a bulk lot you'd go by weight which would get you in the $10-$20 range for the 2-3lbs displayed here.

It can only be really sold as mixed bulk. As others have stated check bulk prices sold in you own country.

The cost of shipping bulk makes it more expensive for foriegn buyers who would be probably able to buy it cheaper in their own country. 

In Ireland it's usually sold at 10 - 12 euro per kilo, which is a lot more than US bulk lots. I don't know how much it worth in Italy.

I think that too. I've asked here 'cause my LEGO story has seen barely almost only SW sets and never bought a bulk like this so wanted to understand which was the order of magnitude here.

No minifigures and common pieces drive down any real value. If your friend kept all the parts organized and separated, that would decrease your time expenditure and add a bit of value. You won't have to spend a couple hours searching for non LEGO pieces.

I have not asked because I wanted to pick this up actually, just wanted to help him up having also your suggestion in the pocket. I am so full of SW sets (and I am NOT a reseller, just a fan/collector) that I could defintely not make room also for a city MOC.

Probably he'll sell it via some sites that are similar to what is called CraigList in your country. The lot weights 4kg so he'll try to put this at 30-40 EUR (bearing in mind the 10 EUR per kilo as a benchmark) and see if someone bites.
