They are well used, with a really great mix of parts and cool parts that are out of print. Only a few parts with non-useful molds. Assuming the parts are some great molds, not super rare but great out of print molds... still 10$ pound? Anything less than 10$ per., And I will just add them to my collection.. There's something in your responses that really make me realize that you didn't read anyone's comments on your question. Despite everyone originally saying to stay away from the lot, that there wasn't a lot of value, you went for it. Hey, that's a personal decision. After that, you seem to think that the valuation would change significantly because you sorted them. Go look at Ebay and see what people are selling used lots of bricks for. My $10 lb. was on the generous side. I would love to get $10 lb for all the bulk I'm sorting currently. Old Grey may be popular with certain people, but it's also sort of synonymous with older, more primitive building techniques. If you want to maximize the $$ and amount of time you spend with this lot, open a bricklink store and list every individual piece. You'll probably sell 50% of them eventually with about 8X the effort that you've put in so far. You have to do the research if you want to make the money. It sounds like your buy in on this lot was relatively low. I'd sell it on and take the money and decide what to do with your profits. If $8/lb is too low for you to even bother with, get out of bulk buying. You're only going to make money out of bulk if you do a lot more research, buy a lot better lots, and spend the time to get truly organized. Read the blog article that I posted. There are a lot of pitfalls that I listed there. Your time is only valuable to you, to any buyers, it's worth a maximum of $10/lb on clean bricks.
March 17, 20169 yr Author I feel the need to briefly say that I have carefully read every single reply to this article and your personal opinions and facts (of which there were very few real facts initially, except Thumper) are a great help. However the first pictures were so poor I had to see the lot personally. I definitely maximized the potential value by cleaning and sorting them, now I am just soliciting some personal opinions on the value after cleaning and sorting. One thing I noticed once I dropped them on a scale, I thought they weighed about double what they actually weigh! I got about 6 good pounds that I'll probably sell. I'm going to feel free to keep whatever ones I like since they aren't worth a whole lot...

I'm glad it worked out for you, but I guess it just comes down to "was it worth your time?" <and no I'm not judging, maybe you had some free time this past week, maybe you're getting your feet wet, taking a chance, doesn't much matter to me since it's your time, not mine :)> I stand by my original statement... this wasn't a great bulk lot and I'd have never picked it up. The pictures were bad (a sign), it was a full of mega blocks (another sign) and the price was dirt cheap (a sometimes sign). I'd like to hear how it turns out for you if you decide to sell some of those bricks...
March 20, 20169 yr Author !So far I've just been enjoying adding parts to my collection from the lot. Built myself a much better MOC hospital with all the white and red... I'm a noob builder and not a very creative person with lego in general... here's my hospital, unfurnished so far:
