Ebay prices dont seem to support this theory yet since you can buy in at $10-$13 and the original ones were going for $30ish.

all chickens gone in my area except one store that thinks its a "spend $30/free" promo. then they said it does not start until 3/6 and took the box away. i got mine before they took it to storage, but POS did not pull it up as a promo (automatically taken off), nor date blocked it.

I know.  I just thought it was an appropriately funny alternate interpretation I didn't want anyone to overlook given the history of less-than-stellar TRU employees (particularly seasonal staff).

I had the same from one store I called. Said they had it, but it was a giveaway because it was marked promo from 3/6 to 3/12. 

I went to the TRU in my area this morning and went home with 10 coops. They had some more left. Suprisingly they were stocked in the TRU easter section and not in the lego shelves.

My TRU had none available on the floor. I asked a guy, he called the manager who brought one from the managers office. Said it was limit 1 due to the promo but let me buy for 5.99

Chicken man is here!!! Have to ask the CS clerk and do some smooth talking ... Scored 7 of their 24 they had..cluck cluck!!

Went to my local TRU again this morning. They restocked them again so I grabbed a handful more.

Got one free though lego UK via online Vip customer orders, 

I just got back from my 2nd run to TRU, & I cleaned 'em out
