My bet is that they are going to give us last years promo train along with the gingerbread house, with the gingerbread house serving as the train station.

I hope Lego puts out a good winter set this year. It's been two years since the last one. That piece of crap remake last year doesn't count.

I don't see how it's whizzing around the tree for only $99.99 retail. Maybe it doesn't come with tracks, but the cheapest motorized train in the last 6 years was 7938 (the red passenger train) at $129.99 but then the new 60051 (high-speed) one came along in 2014 at $149.99.

I have plenty of track and motors :)

I've got some too, but I'm just surprised... seems like a missed opportunity to upsell if it doesn't already come with them. Of course, they could always sell the train, then an add-on pack with motors and track!

If that is the train then I am kinda disappointed.  I was hoping for a train that looked nicer and had more cabooses.

Once they release the images, we might be wishing it was that set.

Unfortunately, this is about what I would expect from a $99 winter train set.  However, the old style wreaths are all over the place in that set.  Weren't the toilet bowl wreaths one of the "upgrades" on last year's rerelease?  Strange they would go back to the old style in this year's set, though nothing would surprise me from Lego in this line.

It's disinformation for Lepin Company by an infiltrator. Retail price: $14.99

Honestly, that's the big question.  Is this a remake, or is this a new design?

I really don't think after last years remake joke, that they'll do another remake so soon. I'm thinking this is almost definitely a brand new design. I also don't think they'll be a track given the $99.99 price.

For once, I don't care about a remake.  I don't have an old Holiday Train.

It is not possible to have it as an 1 : 1 remake because the old Holiday Train was prepared for 9V tuning not for RC tuning..

  • 3 weeks later...

I saw the box today and can confirm the holiday train is a go. 734 pieces
