Armswept a six deep shelf of 42076 technic hovercrafts for 40...here is hoping i won't regret that.

Hit 4 targets total. 1 was a complete strike out, 2 were pretty descent and 1 was a jackpot. Like people behind you in checkout have their eyes popping out as set after set comes out of the cart kind of jackpot.

Overall a good day.....not amazing but a good day.

Its a pretty good discount, better have been seen but still good.  Good set and unlikely to see a remake.  I would bite, if you have the space to store and don't mind potentially siting on them for awhile.

Ocean Monument was on sale at Target just a few weeks ago for 67.90 each, amazon price match it around December 19.

Personally, I feel there is comparatively low demand for this set among Minecraft sets. It didn't move very quickly during the nearly half off sales at several places. I didn't go nearly as deep on this one as I did on 21118 or 21127. At $80ish, I mean you probably can make some money back - but A: I think these will probably survive to next wave of markdowns, and B: I think there's much better things out there to spend your investing budget on. It's early in clearance season. My local LEGO store has these for $80ish right now as well on clearance.

To be fair, there were double digit piles of 75% off 21127 at Targets during last year's clearance, too.

Where do you live that Minecraft lasts until 75% off on clearance? Very, very big YMMV in my opinion.

I feel just the opposite about this set.  I find it unique among all Minecraft sets.

Minecraft sets do very well, but if there is one set that I see on the shelves not moving, it's the ocean Monument. Looks like a large green blob of bricks. It does not seem very appealing on the box art to me

A major metro area with plenty of BrickPickers. 2018 isn't 2017, though.

The point was that even if Achilles thinks Ocean Monument has been a slow mover, so was The Fortress.

I ended up getting 2 ocean monuments. Don't know when I'll be heading a target again... Still 7 or so on the shelf. If it comes down I can get it then, otherwise I don't mind sitting on these 2 for a year plus

For the record, *I* like the set, as Ed mentioned - it's different than the other big MC sets. And I love to be wrong about sets I am skeptical on, and I have quite a few - I am just not loading up the way I did on a few of the others right now. It just seems to be moving slowly even at substantial discounts. I didn't have the same experience with 21127, but as pointed out, that can vary widely by region, etc. I don't remember the 21127 being avail at apx 50% off for 12+ hours without selling out last year the way the 21136 was this year. And LEGO has discounted it right away in store at 30% off, which is fairly uncommon.

Ender Dragon wasn't really flying off the shelf near me either, and I was skeptical on that... And well, look how that one turned out ;)

My point more was - It's hard to buy it all. If I am choosing between Ocean Monument at $80 and say, 41194 at $30, I am buying all the 41194s first. There's lots of good stuff out there now, and there will be even more at deeper discounts/other items in the coming weeks.

Don't forget that these have been clearanced before at retailers - many have bought them at $55 or lower, which puts you at a disadvantage when selling.

EDIT: And for every tale of Ender Dragon there is also the tale of the Nether Fortress - still hasn't broken RRP on Amazon, and was available forever ... I still have a local store with 8 of these in stock at 10% off RRP.

Yesterday I visited one Target store to buy Architecture Chicago but I could not find any although Target.com and DCPI search show in stock. But picked up Technic BMW R 1200 GS Adventure 42063 for $28.98 and Elves The Elvenstar Tree Bat Attack 41196 for $34.98 to make my trip worth.

I unfortunately have plenty of those sitting around as well ;) Alongside my Steamrollers and Gorzan Strikers...

It's a substantial set for $60-$70 IMO and worthy of stockpiling a few.  Minecraft sets are appealing only to those who have played the game or have experience with the game.  I used to laugh at the sets until my son started playing the game and I realized how great the game was and how closely the sets replicated the game.
