Does the gift card reduce the purchase price for the item you are buying now, or does it reduce the purchase price of a future purchase. OR, is it a freebie that you use for personal purposes (i.e. credit card rewards)? the closest thread I could find was from two years ago, so if anybody can advise or link me to best practices, that'd be great... thanks! Pick a method and apply it consistently. But highly recommend keeping business and personal transactions separate. Edited December 11, 20187 yr by mizeur Typo

Thanks for your reply. I tend to think this way as well. So, do you use your gift cards in little bits, like a $10 card at a time, passing on the $10 gift card to the next transaction kind of. do you use all 20 gift cards and offset a $200 purchase? I don't really like the latter because I feel it would screw up your profit % calculation?

I don't really like the latter because I feel it would screw up your profit % calculation? Honestly I usually just use them all at once if I have them regardless of the purchase. I think of the profit % as an overall number, not just based on a per set basis. For instance, $100 off of a $1000 worth of LEGO's is still 10% regardless if it's a certain set or not.
December 11, 20187 yr On my orders, Target charges the gift card separately from the Lego sets, effectively reducing the price of the sets. I think they do this because if you return a set, you don't get the purchase price back, only the price less the gift card. However, there is no requirement to account for the gift cards the same way. One option would be to value the Lego sets at full price, and have no cost in the gift card, and then use the gift card(s) for a personal item, Lego or otherwise.

Does anyone have a direct link to all LEGOs that we can sort? What does everyone think of BH Thanos? People were ripping those off the shelves on Black Friday. Thanks.

I had no problem sorting by price, although not every set in the deal showed up.

I have my own account I use just for business and always use them to re-purchase more product, not personal items.

EDITED - Nevermind, that's 10705. Another screw up for that listing... Edited December 11, 20187 yr by CathyVT

Guessing someone put the decimal place in the wrong spot. I resemble that remark. Last month I had some PlayHut Thomas the Tank Engine tents on FBA that I was adjusting from $109 to $98.80 on my phone. I was cooking Thanksgiving dinner at the same time and not paying enough attention. Someone got some great gifts for $9.80 each. My cost basis on the items was only around $9, but the FBA fees were something like $18 each I think. They were large, so shipping them to the warehouse took up an entire box, so that was probably another $10. The opportunity cost of lost sales hurt a bit. Lesson learned. Andy
