Careful.  This is a $20 set.  At target its offered for $16, plus the GC discount which will drop it another $2.4 or so.  The sears deal isn't so great.

Was thinking about it for those who hadn’t taken advantage of the GC deal. But maybe combining into the new GC deal will garner a similar deal.

Even with the discount 60160 is still 7.9/brick... break even on eBay is easily $60.

I do think that the continued lack of a limit is interesting. Its a gift to us now that we an even better idea of whats retiring, but it makes me wonder about Target's motivations. I can't imagine Target is making much / any money on the BP'ers who are continually using their gift cards with each purchase - and probably losing money on many of us. Obviously plenty of normal shoppers are taking advantage of this promotion as well and not necessarily putting the $10 back into LEGO. Is this promo generating enough sales of LEGO among normal shoppers that its worth it? Is this getting enough people onto Target's page / stores that its generating other sales even if they are mostly not making much $ on LEGO? Is this part of the online struggle with Amazon and Walmart - sales no matter the cost? Or is their inventory this high that they need the sales to cut down on the surplus of sets this year? A form of clearance, if you will...

I know no one has answers and its probably a combination of some of them. Just thinking out loud...

Pretty simple.  I buy from Target and not Walmart.  If a retailer questions why I buy something, I no longer use them.  Target and Amazon make it easy.  Walmart has lost my business.  Do they care?  No, but if enough people like me leave, they will care.

This is by far my favorite deal at Target right now - right at the price point, gets you the GC, but I think we went over this the other day: how much do you have to actually shell out in cash to get the $10 GC?  Remember you can't use  GC to get a GC so you have to pay something.  What is the minimum amount you have to pay to trigger the GC deal?

False .

This....Target gives a target gc....this ensures you push your business to target in the future....and if you don't they don't care.  It allows target to give greater discount than just a percentage off the set.

If anyone can confirm in store if this Arrow is correct please let us know.  Thanks.

I'm confused by the question, and seeking to clarify:

1) Are you asking/assuming that you cannot use a Target GC towards the purchase of an item that has a "Buy $X, get a $Y Target gift card" offer, and receive the new GC after purchase? or
2) Are you asking/assuming that you cannot use a Target GC to buy a different gift card, such as Buffalo Wild Wings, XBox Live, etc.?

If #1, I have used a target GC online to lower the cost of a purchase, and still received a new promo gift card. Haven't had the chance to try in store.

If #2, I have not been able to use gift cards to purchase other gift cards.

Thanks for asking.  So, I go into the store to select $50 in LEGOs and use my 10% off GC to pay for the entire bill.  Do I then get another $10 GC even if I pay for the entire balance with the 10% GC?  Or, do I have to pay them some part of the amount in RedCard to then qualify for the new GC?

No, I just bought 3 of these in 3 different transactions using my 10% gc for the entire thing. Got the price down to $40 after all said and done.

I was in a Target today and there were a lot of holes on their shelves for sets that they used to have a ton of, so I am assuming the combination of $10 GC and Xmas are doing wonders for their sales.

Reminds me of the Volvo 160 set

If you bought that one from TRU at the end there you are making out like a bandit now

I went through and looked at the night Toy's r us put up some insane sales last December. While I was being an idiot purchasing Jestro's volcano Lair and some Ninjago Cave no one ever heard of. I also snagged a lot more Volvo 160EW then I initially realized. Here's an Interesting reflection on past deals.

Volvo 160EW
Current: 179.40 Cost: 60.12 Fee's 33.40
Margin 47.8% Profit 85.78$

41130 Friends Roller Coaster
Current: 179 Cost: 61.47 Fee's 37.43
Margin 44.5% Profit 79.87$

Lego Xerion Claas 42054
Current: 167.40 Cost: 94.50 Fee's 36.75
Margin 21.50% Profit: 36.15

Jestros Volcano Lair
Current: 229.99 Cost: 64.30 Fee's 44.50
Margin 52.69% Profit: 121.19

Based on Jestro's slow selling rate and recent boost in prices, you couldn't have gone wrong purchasing much besides the Xerion and ninjago cave thing.
