I would buy Walkers at 40% off. It's rarely been on sale online. I gotta think it gets to $180-200 worst case after eol. Probably better than that if it follows previous Walkers.

I've been avoiding most newSW sets like the plague - ep 8 sets especially - but thoughts on 75189 heavy assault walker for 40% off?

Local kmart is closing and this is the only set left on the shelves. 3 boxes in suprisingly great shape.

Heavy Assault Walkers at 40% off is a strong buy IMO. Show me another AT-AT that hasn't performed well after eol. I'll wait.

Do you part these out or try to ship them?  They seem really big to be able to move.

Was anyone other than Kmart offering these at 40%?

It's not the size and weight, it's the buy-in and sell price. Shipping's the same as any other ~20x16x4 set that weighs <6lbs packed.

WM stores cleared them out for 50-75% off twice last year. You should go scout the clearance threads to get a sense for the rock bottom prices.

Agreed to a point.  If you have something that heavy it will cost about $30 to ship, regardless if you repack it.  Also depends on boxes - how do all of you handle that?  Is there a place (besides mean LEGO store who won't give out their boxes) to secure cheap shipping boxes?

Many were found at Walmart at $74 and $35 last year during clearance.

75189?  The ones that are currently listed for $150?  Just want to make sure we're talking about the same set here. That's a huge discount and wondering how a store can make a profit at that amount.

These are easy to ship. They are even a little shorter than the destroyer boxes. I can ship these $10-15 on the east coast, $25 or so out west.

There's a packing materials thread that has the knowledge you seek.

And maybe you should price out other shipping services or figure out a platform that lets you charge buyers for shipping their purchases.  Or allow geographic restrictions.

Call some local businesses and ask about picking up boxes due for recycle. I get all my boxes and packing material for free this way.

Headed there now friend - thanks for the reminder!

They didn't. They made profit on the ones they sold for $150 and they made cash and freed up inventory space for the ones they sold at clearance.

Well at that price I can how everyone made money.  Will keep an eye out for this.  Thanks.
