Actually I was just trying to change the topic as I was getting very bored of TP and USPS and makeup posts. Thought I would throw a match on things. I figured this would be more entertaining at least. ??.

These are my feelings too.  I always like anything that encourages discussion. I like to throw in set discussion into this thread.  The only thing I don't like is that I haven't figured out how to delete multiple messages on my android phone.  Very tedious going through my brickpicker folder and having to individually delete 100 messages.

Once again, lipstick tears apart the BrickPicker forum!

Crazy how the days leading up to Thanksgiving into the weekend and Monday (some Tuesday) were hopping with discounts all over.  Looking now, you would think nothing happened at all and 5-10% off was a deal.  Glad I didn't hesitate to buy this year, although there was probably another $1-5k that I could have spent easily but backed off under fear of being cancelled by WM or banned by my wife.  I am definitely paying my credit card in multiple payments this month to mask the one single large payment approach. Helps though that for me being a small player, still got nearly 30 orders out the door at the same time I was loading back up but now wish I would have bought more in the past to continue the sales.  Fun stuff and I love that this replaces my gambling habits.

There were some excellent deals this year for sure....the best in a few to be honest.  Every year is different.  The TRU situation this year will affect things as well.  There is no way to tell if that will be the last of the major deals or if things explode on ANY GIVEN RANDOM DAY.  It pays to keep this thread on your favorites list.  LEGO and lipstick deals are found quite frequently!

When everything is 40% off its hard to really determine "what a deal is". I'm concerned a lot of what i purchased was over produced because 40% sales generally don't sit around forever but we'll see. The ban situation definitely made me pivot away from soul crushing numbers on only a few sets. It will be fun to see how it works out

I may have been oblivious to this in the past but it appears more places are upping there Lego selection *Kohls, *JCPenney *Macys. The more competition the better!

If this was gambling, Vegas would be out of business.

It has been 3 or 27 most of the season. They raised it to 100+ on some listings.

Most of the sets I saw discounted were solid sets.  In the grand scheme of LEGO 2017/2108, the 30-40% discounts were a small percentage of overall sets from the past 2 years.  A year from now, a potential consumer will not know what a reseller paid for it.  They will just want the set...and pay for it.  They are paying silly prices for run of the mill CITY, Classic, Duplo, Technic, Architecture, Disney, Juniors, etc...on Amazon, especially now.  Starting at a 40% discount will make any set a winner given a little patience.  

The trick it seems today is selling on Amazon.  Those who can will prosper.  Those who can't will struggle.
