That's been my experience in recent times.  I used to exploit that loophole myself, but for me, it's been closed for at least a year I'd say.

Just FYI, it continues to work. Keep it in mind when winning auctions, or BIN without instant pay. Items with free shipping provide the most bang for your eBay Buck, since they don't yield any points on shipping charges.

YMMV but I have also tried this in recent ebay buck promos and even though it showed i was getting ebay bucks on the checkout screen for auctions won prior to the promo i was never actually credited with the promo bucks on those purchases, just the standard 1%.

Found new Jurassic World sets were rolled back 18-20% at my local Walmart.  Picked up Carnotaurus Gyrosphere Escape for $64.00 and Jurassic Park Raptor Chase set for $32.82.  Not great for investing but enough for my personal collection.  Just thought I'd share since this tends to be new MSRP.  Not seeing the price on the Walmart website.

 

The only one that didn't seemed to be lowered in price was the Indoraptor set.  Shelf tag still showed regular price.

Was just at B&N today.  They still have LEGO Batman Movie sets @ 30% + 10% member discount.  I guess this is a month-long sale?  Seems like they've been on sale like this for a while.  There were still sets on the shelf too.  Not sure what that says for the theme and investment.  I didn't buy any though.

looks like every walmart has dropped instore price on elves breakout from goblin king fortress 41188 down to either $44 or $22.  msrp is $69.99.   at $22, its a no brainer.  $44 i'm tempted.  online price is still $55.99 so ymmv depending on store stock availability.

Yeah, there was a fair amount left in my store too.  Doesn't bode well for those investing in Batman LEGO movie sets.  I stayed away from them myself, minus the occasional set for my nephew.  But I'm a small fry.
