I vote nay. I advise waiting for a better deal.

First, this set has been discounted like this at least twice this year already. Second, it's a TRU Exclusive, which means more likely than not...it will linger in their inventory and stores for some time until they are all liquidated and closed downs.  Third, spend the $68 on something else that is just as cool.

If you want it, go for it. I do like this set and will get it down the road...but with many other sets out there and retirements pending, I vote no.

I didn't get a volvo 42053 yet, so grabbed one for $65 after coupon, from TRU. Using@cladner math, that's like 125% off

 

 

was given this coupon from walmart when i picked up a site to store.   asked for a couple of more and was given a small stack which i will put to good use.  good for 10% off up to $20 per order.  each has a unique code.  then i opened the box up and there was unexpected $5 walmart gift card sitting on the ferrari's. 

 

might be worth seeing if you can get a few at the site to store if you are going by a store - ymmv.

I went with the Volvo as well. I haven’t really collected technic sets so this might be the start of a long and expensive journey. At least this was cheap enough to be worthwhile.

I was thinking the same thing today when I realized I've spent about a grand on technic in the last couple weeks.  Oops.  I can definitely picture driving that Volvo around the yard with my son if it doesn't appreciate.
