Those "mystery" points seem to have stopped - no longer seeing them when placing items in my cart on SYW.com using TRU as a seller. So if you grabbed some earlier today - well done!

With those bonus points, the TRU deals were spectacular.

I guess I don't understand the motivation to post on SD though. If you're a member here, it seems like you'd want to keep the deal from hitting the masses?

Once a deal is posted here, it's already hit the masses.

Have you ever found a deal on slickdeals?  That's the motivation.  Same motivation as posting here.  Pay it forward ya dig.  Like I said, wouldn't ****** someone else's find but does it really matter who I shared it with.  Would you prefer I were a member to only slickdeals and did not post here.  Perhaps my gift horse had teeth just not white enough for some of ya'll

I don't go on that site but from what I've heard, more often than not, once a deal gets posted over there, it gets killed. If only we specialized in Lego over here...[emoji6]

Truthfully, I have not. I've never even visited the SD website. Obviously you're free to post whatever deals you find in any forum you like. In the big picture it doesn't matter much to me, because I'm not in the market for any of the sets listed in the sale. 

My only observation in the original post was that for someone visiting and/or posting in a primary LEGO investment forum, it seems a bit counterproductive to also spread that word in a venue that caters to consumers and non-LEGO focused buyers. 

If you feel differently that's cool. I wasn't upset or trying to start a big argument. And thanks for your original post, because I'm sure lots members here benefitted.

I like your ethic Lawpepperdine, and appreciate the contribution.  It's one of the better deals posted here in weeks.  It's your find and you can do what you want with it.  If people want you to post your finds here (and not elsewhere), maybe they should offer you more love... and less hate.

Yeah, right...if people lived by the fight club rule, this site wouldn't exist. There was plenty of that sentiment on other boards when BP first started and it was as futile then as it is now. As they say, information yearns to be free.

Slickdeals is one of those websites that turns your soul darker the longer you stay there.  Here in BP you can have conversations or even disagreements like adults

Well, you make a fair point, and I do realize this is a Lego specific site, and my loyalty to Lego deals - particularly the more hidden ones - will be to this site.  I also understand it had the potential to kill the deal faster, but it's not my intention to do that with any consistency.

My thought this time was that because toys r us posted to their front page 40% off Lego it was bound to get out.  Since slickdeals has helped me find non-Lego deals that often times help fuel my Lego love (like rolling syw points on non-Lego purchases or sales on gift cards to sites for Lego) I thought I'd give back with the remote possibility that a Lego lover could actually not be a brickpicker subscriber and benefit from the heads up.

I understand some in the community wanting to keep Lego more selective.  I am just more of the mindframe that the more people are exposed and interested the more fantastic Lego and duplo (huge duplo fan) sets are made.  

last point.  I will always post deals here first.  I fully intend to give my fellow brickpickers first bite at the apple, even if I want others a chance at the core...

If someone has better search capabilities than me, I have only been able to identify one Lego set not excluded from targets TOYS promo.  There may be others.  The hunt is on (but only for BPers - the SD community already got their quota of love).
