since when Amazon started referring its percentage off not to MSRP?

Both 21120 and 21126 is $39.99. The bot here listed correctly. Amazon however likes to crawl web prices to match and has been listing their discount prices base on current market MSRP (or should I say Target/ Walmart/TOysrus discount prices) for awhile on their site. That's not something new. I believe I start noticing it during Jan this year but it might have been earlier. They are extremely sneaky, but I don't know whats the benefit of doing that for them.

lots of Amazon shoppers only care about the percentage off, they won't bother looking for the market MSRP. That said, 15% off definitely looks unappealing than 40%. The bright side of it is for some people who truly know the value of the set now have more chance to grab one before it gets sold out.

anyway, thank you for the info.

The better deals that have been posted and shared by BP members are usually from their findings IN STORE not online.

I do not agree , as those deals are local and not availnle to most. I am referring to Helicarrier at 40% off,  last years Tower Bridge on amazon, 42070 at Walmart 120 dollars off, Amazon day 2017, etc.

You guys do not need to jump of your seats from a personal point of view that is not even a critique, just again a personal choice.

I am not complaining , It is probably a good tool , but most of the really good deals are still posted by the forum members ... when I see a post from a member I do open it , not from Max.

I guess I miss that when I received an alert from this thread in the past ( prior Max) it could meant  a great deal was happening...

Your previous statement seems like complaining though. It's like you're saying "since this guy came into the company, everyone else stopped working". You are calling out the new efficient guy in the company despite him doing his job: updating Amazon prices. That bot wasn't suppose to be the "be all or end all" solution to all the findings on the web. Nothing like that exist.

I get the alert thing too. Sometimes there's nothing out there, no one is posting and you keep seeing alerts but it's just Max Profit's post and it's a repeat of the same prices with no changes. I tell myself that's a good thing, because it really confirms that nothing is out there. I think the trade off of having it is way better than not having it. For me personally, I don't want to speak for everyone here.

Update: I saw your new post and I quite agree with you on the fact that there are still deals online out there like the ones you quoted. (I miss out on the Heli myself) I don't think all the better deals posted are local findings by BP members. But the same point is still valid. I think if anything that Max Profit replaces, it replaces people who were trying to update Amazon prices. I don't see the bot as a deal finder, more like an Amazon price update bot. It would be great if it can crawl Amazon day events but I'm not sure how realistic or easy/possible to script.

@costco for $23. Not too bad with new higher price

The best deals are still happening, but they're silently happening in the KMart/SYW thread. Ever since Fast Eddie loaned himself another $200M, he's been handing out weekly free LEGO sets to all who want to take the effort of collecting them. It's insane.

Max Profit is the One True King. And I'll have words with any man who suggests otherwise.

Max Profit - You my boy, Blue, you my boy. Ride or die.

I got a similar email for an Old Fishing Store I ordered, but then it shipped later that same day, so dont lose hope yet. (Especially seeing as the Jedi hyperdrive set still shows as in stock for shipping)

Well, they officially cancelled my Jedi hyperdrive order about an hour ago.

Is this normal for TRU online shopping?

I agree with rolibamirez dont need amazon price updates max profit should have his own thread it makes the daily deals thread unimportant and I rarely even check it even more where I used to check everyday every few hours for new posts from members...now it always says recent post by max profit and I dont waste my time for the meh 20-30% off regular price constant deals on amazon...These prices are just the going rate online at all retailers nothing special...Make Max profit its own Amazon current price thread and leave the daily deals to relevant posts members want to read...If all we want is amazon prices then we would just go to amazon...

I would remind everyone that if there is a member that you don't care to see posts from including Max Profit you can simply ignore that user and you won't see those posts or receive e-mail's with posts from that member.  It's very simple. Just hover your mouse over a post from that member and a box will pop up with information about that member including the option to ignore them.  There is no need to complain about Max Profit. Just ignore him if you don't want to see it.

I don't think their point is not wanting to see Max Profit's posts but to be able to read it separately. For example, in the email updates now, others' posts are easily buried in Max's posts.

Also I rather see max profits semi ok deals then people complaining(which is not a deal and i get a notification to check it out to find out it's just a complainer) like my post :)

Do me a favor.. Count how many Max Profit posts you can find in this thread right now? (not counting the sticky on the top of the page).  Go back 50, even 100 pages and tell me how many Max Profit posts are messing with other peoples posts.

There should definitely be an un-moderated Max Profit Complaint thread that only the complainers go to, and no one else ever sees. We can move all the complaints from this thread to that thread. Problem solved. I think that the idea that only the best of the best deals should be served straight to your inbox is lazy and unfair; part of the way we give back (in addition to sharing deals and content and engaging with the community) is by buying through the affiliate links on the site. Max Profit is both a benefit to us and to the Brickpicker site/The Macks. Count me in the "don't listen to the haters" camp Jeff and Ed.

I have nothing against the posts. Simply read the discussions in the email and guessed that might be what people meant based on my own observations...

Since you asked... I guess this is a technical issue. I followed the thread mostly through the email updates sent to me. In this case, due to the declining activities from other members, I see a couple of messages from Max's once 1-3 hour posts. At least, AT LEAST, in my email, I probably got to see 5-10% other member's posts. This is under the scenario: subscribing to the thread, having Gmail account. Maybe this is what others have set up too, who know. Technical or not, not me to judge.

Again, I am not standing with or against anything, no intention of waging a war. I find my own way around things, just thought I pointed out my observations as a feedback and didn't know I got to be the target.

Edit: It's definitely technical then. I went back looking at my email. All the Max Profit email I've got, I didn't see them here on the thread (which I just went back to). In case you forgot, I've considered myself an appreciating BP member, never complained anything that I received freely but only gratefully and tried to provide as constructive suggestions as I can.

If you ignore a user, you don't get an email update for their posts.  So if you ignore Max, you should only get email updates from other users.

again I just pointed out my observations, I'm not saying I am one of those who doesn't want to see his posts.

So, we hear ya, we got it.  Points have been made, and we're taking them under consideration.  Thank you for your feedback, as it really is appreciated.

Let's get back to finding those Daily Deals now.

People make a big deal about Max Profit.  It can be ignored.  The reason it stays here is because 500+ users follow this thread.  If I remove it from here, then I have to tell hundreds of people to go elsewhere when this is the deals thread.  It's not going anywhere, so ignore it and then don't complain about it. Those that are complaining about it are making more of a mess of this thread than Max Profit is.

The script runs every 3 hours.  Removes all previous posts and just leaves the latest and greatest (1 single post).  For each of those that complain, there are plenty of others that send a PM, email, Facebook message that say..."thanks"

Max Profit will be improving and also be integrated into other features that may eventually replace this part here.  So have patience.  Maybe one day some of you will find use for him, but for now, do what works for you, ignore him and have a happy day.  This is the end.  If you want to PM me about it fine, but don't waste anymore time here in this thread.

100% agree.  the max profit posts are great..  i basically ignore them (by not getting emails or alerts) when not needed.  I still like to pop into this thread couple times per day to view the latest deals.

i honestly don't understand why people are complaining.

Definitely YMMV and more for a supplies thread.
