Thank you so much! Do they often offer extra bonuses for signing up for the card? No rush to do it today with what you just told me haha

The 15% off coupon is kind of a constant I am aware of. I mean, they could stop offering it at any time, but they've been offering that for years.

No, you only get rewards points for what is actually charged on the card. You CAN "Partial Pay" on Thursdays to get the 10% off entire purchase but only say, pay $1 on the TRU CC. However, rewards are accrued based on what's actually charged.

@scatttcatThis isn't true. I get rewards points for the full purchase price shown on the receipt, including the double points, as long as $1 goes on my TRU card. If nothing is put on a TRU card, you would still get the standard rewards points if paying in full or part with gift cards.

One caveat is that you don't get double points the day you open your card and get the bonus 15%. You can only earn standard rewards points on that day.

You can even get rewards points if you purchase from Toys R Us orders through eBay, Newegg, etc., with or without the TRU card. You just have to submit a missing points request for this with the invoice/order # shown on the packing slip once you receive the items.

So if I am going to make a decent purchase today, I should open the card, get 15% off and then only put a dollar of the cost on it? Will they let me do that you think?

Or are they going to claim to get 15% off I'd have to put full amount on newly opened TRU card? Obviously I'd like to use gift cards

It's partially dependent on the store and cashier, but  I'd use gift cards for most or all but $1 if possible. I make all my purchases with a partial pay of $1-$5 on my TRU card before scanning gift cards, including the day I opened my card just before Christmas.

Headed over to Toysrus today and found 5 sets of JW today that the website said were not available at that store.

Anyway, the cashier took the discount to match the website price. I opened a card and then she said she couldn't give me the additional 15% off since she did the online price discount. Said the system wouldnt let her. So she gave a few buck more off the Transporter.

What do you guys think? Should I take them back and repurchase to see if I can get the full discounts?

My TRU had 15% off clearance flyers in store which gave an additional discount on the Avenjet since it was originally a clearance price ending in $.98.

Many of these aren't available at retail pricing any more because they are retired. Yes, there is a TRU markup, but gift cards take care of that, plus the discount they are offering. Most of these won't last through the day.

Was never able to have TRU cs add missing points for my TRU ebay purchase. They always claim ebay purchase won't earn points.

You can't talk to CS as they will state this. The only way to do it is the way I mentioned on the Rewards R Us website. You have to have the order total cost along with the order number (which is only found on the packing slip). I've done this 5-6 times now without an issue. CS has stated the same as you mention though.

Toys R Us Today:

First off, this was my 2nd large haul off a sale, and for those of you who do this on the regular... hats off... it was exhausting haha (but a rush too)

Picked up:

x4 Dilophosaurus Ambush (75916)
x1 Crossbones Hazard (76050) - (personal)
x1 Avenjet (76049) - (personal)
x3 Scuderia Ferrari Truck (75913)
x3 4x4 Off Roader (60115)

No Raptors, and someone snatched the last two Sith Infiltrators right as I was debating getting them.

Now the fun part, I head to the register and for whatever reason, Dilophosaurus / Crossbones / Avenjet ring up correctly with price from website, but the Scuderia Truck and 4x4 do not... So we price match, then I apply for TRU CC and stack 15% off on top of that... However, the ones that the cashier price matched manually (scuderia and 4x4) did NOT deduct the additional 15% off... so we had to manually adjust them AGAIN.

Now while this is happening and the line is growing angry behind me, my cashier calls over her manager for help and he sees my x3 Scuderia's and says "Oh crap, that's my order I am trying to fill for a customer". He then awkwardly asks me if I am reseller and tries to bribe me to leave 1 of the 3 behind so he can fulfill his customer's order. I politely say no (I did not rush out of work to then have my product guilted away from me). Well he then CALLS the customer right next to me and tells them "Sorry, another customer JUST purchased your sets", naturally the receiving person didn't seem happy. Overall, kind of awkward...

Anyways, after all of that, she manually price matched everything and I paid with discounted GC from Rise I bought this morning with the MOM3 code. Worked like a charm.

So sale price + 15% off TRU CC + discounted GCs > that 20+ minute transaction

This story isn't complete without telling us what the manager offered. Good karma?

This is why I stopped going after clearance hauls like this. Too much discomfort, hassle, hit/miss in volume for 300/400$ in profit. The emotional wear of being the lying, jerk consumer is too much for me personally.

I stand corrected. I thought I had read that they "fixed" that, and only the amount on the cards came back as Rewards points. Good to know.

My closest store only had a few things on shelf, and nothing was marked on the shelf. Of note, the 40% sale comes off STORE prices, so a lot of the Jurassic World stuff etc, is priced higher in store - you'll have to get a price match. 1 Ferrari and a couple of the City sets were totally box crushed.

I would have let one go to help the guy out and make the customer happy. No need to be greedy especially for a set like that which isn't going to make you a ton of money when you sell it.

These dont seem like great deals to me because of the TRU markup

I totally agree.  I would pass on all of them.  Well, maybe not the Ultra Agents stuff.

edit:  That's sarcasm.  I don't wanna go to bed feeling guilty tonight from being told by a rookie he arm-swept all of the UA stuff.

I only have a little room left below the stereo, and on this side of the Bicentennial glasses. Somewhere between the ashtray, and the thimbles. Somewhere in this three inches. Right in here, this area, that includes the Chiclets, but not the erasers.

the loophole of getting full rewards for partial pay was closed a long time ago, a least for me.

I've always received double rewards for all my partial pay purchases.  I didn't realize anyone had an issue with this.
