No everybody has the Rollercoaster, but $100 set for $64 is pretty good, and this set was voted top set last year, not sure how long it will be out, but I will have mine and won't have to worry about getting anymore.

The price is definitely right...I've already dropped a ton on this sale, but will probably grab some of those while I'm at it.

What other sets do you think are great?

I like the stunt car and fishing boat... but they are all so new...

Mostly the smaller sets with MSRPs between $10 and $20 that are already marked 20% off before the BOGO.  Stunt Car and Fishing Boat are new, but many sets similar to those have only been lasting for 1 year over the past few years and the sale gets them down to around $7 and $13.75 for me respectively after tax...when you add in the fact that Target is not applying quantity limits to most of the sets in this sale, it equals a very expensive Sunday morning for me.

Here are some ideas on how to get great deals using the above coupon:

Depending on whether the coupon counts the pre-promo price or the post-promo price before applying the $5 off (I've seen both happen), you could get 2 $15 sets for $16 total (or 2 $20 sets for $27 total if the $5 off $30 applies AFTER the 40% off). Especially if the BOGO40 stacks with already reduced pricing, this might be very tempting.

Again, depending on how the $5 off $30 applies, this could net you 3 fun packs for $16 or a starter pack for $25.

The coupon can be reused, but max 1 coupon per transaction.

Alright, here's how it works:

$5 off $30 applies to the purchase price BEFORE the BOGO40% promo. In my case, since I was at $29.98, I had to add a small polybag (on sale for $1 off) to get the coupon to apply. Then the BOGO applied, and then my rewards came off of the total. Unfortunately they reset all their sales prices (except on polybags) when this promo started.

I think one of the best deals at Target is the Friends Amusment Rollercoaster  $64 Each is a great price. I see this set being like the Summer Riding Camp that was a Lego and Toys R US Exclusive a few years ago, and brings $200 and up. I got 16 of them at $64, and might get a few more.

I see $180 + S/H and up on eBay for new lego 3185 (riding camp), limited to buy it now listings.  That's 2.5 years after it went out of stock for the last time at Shop at Home (according to Brickset).  It was reasonably easy to get online for $75 (MSRP $100) without any "magic", so that's not terrible.  Maybe that's as good as things get these days?  Anyway, 'Coaster has been out for only 8 months, so I'm skeptical of loading up on it now, even at 36% off (which after last Fall/Winter's sales, doesn't even sound that great).

The Summer Riding Camp sells for about $225 around Christmas, I had 30 which I got for about $75 or so, I just sold a Summer Riding Camp and Olivia's House for $300 Combo Deal, I still have plenty of both, Now I no the Rollercoaster has not been out long but since I have the extra money I figure for $64 each I have them and don't have to worry about them anymore. This set should be a great money maker once its done, and I really don't care when it retires.

Anyone notice that 75137 Carbon Freezing is not qualifying for BOGO40% online? Looks like in-store it should qualify, as the sign does not exclude it, so if anything you should be able to get an override. Would be $16.59-20% = $13.29 before redcard and tax, or 47% off. Did anyone manage to pick some up?

Found a Friends Adventure Camp hiding in clearance for $17 great box condition.  And picked up 3 in 1 Dinosaurs at 40%.  Topped it with the 5 off 30... Meijer is great for iPad flipping also....

FWIW, works in store, though store price is $17.49. Promo was not advertised at Target I went to but rang up just the same. $27 and change for 2.

EDIT: Actually, $13.99 each. 45% off.

I'm surprised at the high number of exclusions on their site. It feels pretty random to me. They had a bunch of completely sold out stuff listed too on sale. Seems like a waste to offer a sale on Obi-Wan Jedi starfighter

Interesting that that combo worked, the coupon excludes clearance...

MG at the store hooked me up!

You guys suck, carry on.

Stick to defined price match rules for discussion.

My kids’ birthday is coming up soon and Dad does not like to give the usual gift bags. :(  Last year I found Mixels on sale and mixed in (no pun intended) a few Series 15 minifigs for the gift bag thing.

This year the Target BOGO 40% sale hit at the right time and a bit of inspiration hit me.  Today I bought two of the 61034 City People in Park sets for $47.18 total and got the minifigs I need for the birthday party.  Looking forward to keeping the leftover minfigs for us!

Maybe this post will help other BPers and give them ideas for their kid’s birthday parties. :) This community rocks!

Yep - valid until 4/15. See the image I posted. You can find it online in the Easter Toy Ad on meijer.com. I had a few printed which I used, but like ellisnc said, should be no issue just showing the pic I posted a few days ago directly from your phone (although a cashier might be confused with that - the lady at the self check outs at my store insisted on throwing my coupon out after I used it).

Don't see any great deals even with the code. :(

It's kind-a meh. I had some rewards to burn, which helped, plus combined with the BOGO40% gave me a good discount ($4 for LEGO worth $33 MSRP). Plus that helped me earn another reward (since the pre-promo price (i.e. shelf price) counts towards the reward).

In case you missed the brief 50% pre-order price on Amazon or TRU recently, Target.com has Goonies Level Pack for $17.99.  Have to add it to cart to see the price.  Hermione is pre-order at $7.19.  The Ghostbusters story pack is $19.79.   Back to the Future Level Pack is $11.57 if you have one in your area as it is unavailable to ship.
