Although it's a really round about way to do it, Groupon has a promo for Newegg gift cards: pay $100 for $110 worth of gift card. I use Newegg to purchase quite a few of the rarely discounted sets through Newegg-TRU since it's the only place I don't have to pay sales tax. This 9% savings is quite nice.

Not worth the hassle for some people, but I can get the ghostbusters firehouse for under $300 this way and you can submit the packing invoice when you receive it for Rewards R Us points.

I find it remarkable that not a single exclusive is OOS for 2xVIP....  This has to be the most silent VIP period yet...which makes me wonder if it's time to buy exclusives again, while everyone else is jumping on 20% off Nexoknights.  ?

Agreed, I said the same thing in the bubble thread a few days ago. None of the I'm loading up on Modulars talk per usual. Just to clarify Nexo clearance was easily had at 70% off at TRU USA without override.

We don't know that is going to be the case.  Things have changed... And here's my theory for today - 

A few years ago, during these events so many exclusives that were near EOL flew out of the lego stores during these events, and this usually sparked Lego to make additional stock runs.  In 2015 for example, Red 5, ToO, Tumbler, SOH all sort of experienced that.  They'd be knocked out around this time, then get a heavy stock run again. 

This round, we might not see many new stock runs, if any at all.  So, this could put a lot fewer of these exclusives on the market then what it was a few years back.  I think this trend started to happen last year, because I think everyone got burned out from previous years on stocking on exclusives, and many of them gave poor returns out of the gate so it became a dying duck to many resellers.  

So who knows.... I suspect many of these sets that are retiring this year won't get many, if any more stock runs.
