Low buy in plus good marketing of the TRU price (which was $130 last week). Even $80 after tax will get you $20 profit if you are QFLL'er who is selling for $100 on a local CL or FB exchange or OfferUp. Since $100 is retail even the appearance of getting it without paying sales tax is appealing.

YMMV: Local Walmart had another round of mark downs on LEGO clearance. A few of note, 70317 for $25, 41135 for $20, 75119 for $8.

Amazon has been uping the value of retired sets for a while now. Warehouse deals used to be good until they caught on and realized they could raise prices and they've carried it over to new items apparently too.

MISB Sandcrawlers for $250 shipped on eBay.  Guy looks legit even to my skeptical eye.

On a related note, time to go return another one of mine before the window closes.  This set, assuming you don't just want one to build, is looking more and more like the proverbial poopy investment.
