I think Moana is just not a great IP for Lego.

The majority of the movie takes place on a very lightly constructed raft, the main antagonists are so incredibly large or way too small that you can't really do them in Lego.

Imagine a $399 UCS Lava creature or Giant Singing Crab. How well would that sell? :)

The pirate coconut creatures are basically 1x1 spheres with no arms or legs in lego form.

It's just not a great fit the way princesses with castles are.

I agree. Think what we're seeing is Disney bending Lego's arm and Lego going along with it, because why say a hard no over two sets?

Toys R Us is running a buy 1 get 1 free on all Toys to Life products online and in-store this week. Lego Dimensions is included in the sale as well as the online pre-order for the Lego Batman Movie story pack. The pack is RRP at $49.99 so if you buy two that comes out to $24.98 each.  http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=111584206

The TRU BOGO was posted a couple days ago, but I thought this Lego Batman Movie story pack deal was worth pointing out.

I don't see this set doing well, to be honest. The ship is rather boring, there aren't many figures, and of the ones that are there, only Leia is really worthwhile. Ackbar is okay but I'd say folks generally want the ROTJ version. We'll definitely see another Leia in Ep 8 sets, and if they ever rerelease this exact Leia, this set will really tank.

I bet for most here it doesn't have to do too well to still be a success.  Widely available for 35-40%+ off RRP throughout holidays into WM/Target clearance season.  Leia gives it an unexpected bump and it had a relatively short retail lifespan.  Agree it's not the sexiest looking design but I'd be surprised if most of us don't do at least 2x buy-in after fees running up to whenever they unveil '17 fall lineup.  Not bad for 6-9 month hold.

Please forgive a grumpy, retired veterinarian when I say, "buy raffle tickets"! If we can afford to buy LEGO sets then we can afford to support this extremely meritorious cause!

Life is about making good decisions and right now the members (with the exception of those who have donated/bought tickets)  are NOT making good decisions. These kids and the school need our help. Ed is the go between person. Let's not disrespect him and all that he is doing and for heavens sake let's not  allow this school to continue to scrape by or fail.

So open up your wallets you cheap skates and buy some tickets!!!!!!

Okay I am done my rant. And please refer to my preamble about me being a grumpy, retired veterinarian as to the cause for same :)

But seriously, buy some tickets.......all of you!

Have a good evening.

PS: Mods, I know that this is not the board to post this on, but I did it anyways. The more people that read it the better. That said, feel free to remove it if you so choose.

Ebay has an 8% ebay bucks promo that is running until tomorrow night. I'm sure it's targetted, but worth mentioning.

Ah, I can't see images on my computer here... I'm assuming that a screenshot of it was posted.

75140 Troop Transport has been showing up backordered at Amazon for $40.79 (business price) for the last 12 hours or so.  I know it is a similar price at Target and others, but if you prefer Amazon and have a business account:

https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Resistance-Troop-Transporter-75140/dp/B017B1BTXW/ref=sr_1_3?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1484755853&sr=1-3&keywords=lego+troop+transport

From Jet.com

http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=jfOcdvfTNg4&offerid=414385.7&subid=0&type=4

TRIPLE15 is live again and new shoppers at Jet can now enjoy 15% off their first 3 orders! Valid through 4/1/17. Max discount/order: $30.

In addition, WELCOME15 offer will expire on 2/1/17, but anyone who has already redeemed the code before then will still have ample time to redeem their 2nd & 3rd orders beyond 2/1/17

Bucket Wheel Excavator (42055) currently $225.89 @ Walmart.com.  Not as low as the ~$201 a few months ago, but not a bad discount on such a large set.  I've not purchased since I'm not a Technic person, but hear it's a good build and it's definitely impressive (have seen one built).

20% all Lego at Fred Meyer. Mine has sealed Batman movie CMf

Lucky you bro. Hook a brotha up?
