They're actually fighting me on this one. I got a refunded a few weeks ago on the IST with no problem. Both instances they were still en route to my home. It's one thing if you've had it for a week, it's another if you haven't even received it yet.

I tried to get a PM for an item that hadn't even shipped yet and they wouldn't do it, if I cancelled the order I likely wouldn't be able to reorder @ the lower price because of quantity limits. (Unless they fixed that) Quite annoying.

amazon has ditched that policy [afaik]. they don't price match anymore. not with themselves or anyone else.

"Alright, now although what the previous agent stated was 100% correct and we really should never be doing post order price adjustments but I will do this as a one time exception. I will be refunding the $15.48 price difference back to a gift card balance on the account." 

 

You just have to be persistent and persuasive. It's a terrible policy. It would cost Amazon more money for me to return it and repurchase (in this particular case there is no quantity limit than anyone has observed).

For you perhaps, but they jump prices around (up and down) so often and fast these days it is a terrible policy for them. :-)

Look at 3C for some sets and the graph looks like an extended magnitude 10 quake.

For personal use, sure why not. For investment I'd wait. It will most likely see deeper discounts in the future, and will be a good candidate to see at least 50% off clearance at Walmart or Target down the road.

Agreed, DC Superhero Girl stuff is going to be 50% off everywhere soon.  The show is decent too, but the stuff isn't selling through very well.

These days sets don't retire they just morph into new packaging and remakes. 

Most likely this one would be one of those that will be remade.

Likelihood of retiring in next six months

Not going to be remade (like falcon.....)

Not likely to be discounted

Collectability and investment potential

And I do recognize that there is a lot of smoke and mirrors these days but was hoping the great minds on this board could provde a little guidance

Yeah this is kind of the point of this site, but not the Daily Deal thread necessarily. I would check the Retiring Soon thread, some good info there.
