March 4, 20169 yr ToysRUs still has in stock all Lego City Arctic series with the exception of Ice Breaker. prices are just retail but they are actually in stock unlike Target or Walmart. just curious if they are pickup worthy since they've been retired?

March 4, 20169 yr Someone got it...Love the autumn colors in that one, and the actual temple is pretty money. Yeah I got it. My little boy loves ninjago so we can put this together. Hope it's all together
March 4, 20169 yr Indigo/Chapters just sent me an email saying they were giving 10x Plum Points all month long on Lego. With the weakness of the Canadian Dollar, might be worth importing from Canada.

March 4, 20169 yr This may certainly be a bit of a YMMV but I stopped at a TRU yesterday and found a 42009 (Crane Mk II). Box was a wee bit battered but still sealed. So they're still out there. Good deal for a pretty much done lovely big set if you combine with the gift cards off eBay and TRUTH.

One thing that gave me the jitters about this set was seeing pallets of them at Costco for $89/each before Christmas. It's a truly worthy set, but I always worry when there seems to have been enough out there for everyone to get their fill and there never seems to be a shortage of it. I want one of these for myself...er, I mean my future kids. I do like how it ticks down a percentage point each day.

My understanding is that 4184 Black Pearl was everywhere (To include pallets of them at Sams or Costco). I did not see that personally I just vaguely recall reading it here in the threads. It was discounted down 30% and still not flying off of the shelves. A few years later and many opinions have changed. Now I admit it might be a stretch of a comparison. Deep Sea set compared to a Branded Pirates of the Caribbean set. But if the aftermarket demand is there I see no reason why the unique deep sea sets won't perform admirably. I won't suggest what to buy and what to shy away from because everyone has unique goals. Disclosure: I own both Pirates of the Caribbean sets and Deep sea sets.

I buy two every time Exciter posts that link, assuming it's been a week since I've last ordered. Great set. My gut tells me though that some will find this on obscene Walmart clearance this summer. It made it past the January Walmart clearance, and they don't seem to sell at retail, at least in my walmarts. I'm assuming Walmart will want this gone this summer/early fall to make room for the Christmas toys. If you feel like rolling the dice you can wait until then for a possible better deal.

March 4, 20169 yr chapters indigo cancelled my order of 60 series 15 packets. email states maximum order of 40 target website seems to have changed 5% off gift card loophole today. 5% off no longer applies to gift card orders. I tried to buy a ebay gift card last night but got a cancellation email this morning (it had the 5% off last night). When I tried a new transaction today, there is no more 5% discount. anyone else seeing the same?

My renaissance was just late 2014 and I'm in my sophomore year. No longer vulnerable to Chima sales, but new enough that I worry I might go deep on a theme that goes away as part of the normal cycle and then is forgotten, never to appreciate or be appreciated. Thanks for the lessons learned anecdote. Those are the kind of stories I want to hear when weighing my strategy and searching for deals.
