Basically every theme performs better than Superheroes. Throw Ant-Man out and you have a whole lot of crap.

Wolverine's Chopper Showdown was a definite winner!

Batman is usually fine from DC.

Superman is the problem.

I agree. Darkseid Invasion - a BLAST to build and the minifigure assortment is first class. I absolutely love this set for my collection but nobody else cares or is willing to pay even RRP for it.

Deals please. Argue the merits of the minifigs, or sets or movies in the appropriate subs. Thanks!

Ok! But some of the best deals are the ones not taken. A lot of us have bought and bought just because something is a "good deal" thinking that Lego can only go up and up. I think we all need to take a step back before opening our wallets for the upteenth time.

yep - breaking even sounds about right.  you know the theme is a loser when target is still selling their exclusive Superman brainiac set 76040 that retired a year ago.
i can't even sell the stupid Superman Black Zero escape that i bought for 50% off MSRP now 2 years later.  i sold 2 in 6 months on amazon with the lowest price of $17.99.
i'll leave the easy big money in SH to all the minifigure parter outers.

FBA

Sold my black zeroes for $30 during BF (same 50% buy in)

76040 is at $44.95 at FBA.

Is FBM really worth it? Amazon basically makes it as hard as possible.

8 SC @ target.... 25$ discount applies.

Niko (new-sealed) was offering the same price (+ $1, for $276 shipped) on eBay yesterday.  If you miss out at Target, it's worth checking the eBay listings.  You don't want to be the last one on your block without a motorized Sandcrawler tooling around, launching Jawa utility vehicles*

*Many essential parts sold separately (see the Sandcrawler thread).  Modifying lego sets, especially UCS sets, can be dangerous and should be performed only under parental supervision.  A motorized Sandcrawler is not a toy.  Children and pets should not be permitted to play on, under, or around the vehicle.

Buy in is key. Remember when joker steamrollers were 50-75% off at target on clearance and so many were available that the talk was they would never sell? I have sold 4 over the last 3 days on fba for $72 each with less $25 buy in. After shipping and fees doubled my money. Every set is different and where you sell matters.

fba $72 each? WOW is all I can say. Getting 4 sold in the past 3 days  at that price when the fba price is around $59 is crazy good. Your case might be the exception and not the norm.

No one said people buying on Amazon are smart. There are 2 listings for 76013 and one has lowest fba price of just under $60 and the one I listed under had lowest fba of $71.99 but had to lower a little to get buy box.

(IIRC from the sell thread) @micbelt is an alt-lister, also something to consider.

Not to derail but is amazon better than ebay?  I'm sure it is but the fees are higher right?  Is there just more traffic.

Amazon is generally better than ebay for sets in high demand. I find that offloading larger in-production flips and non-retiring sets (TB, PS, etc) Ebay is better.

Not sure what you mean by alt-lister? I list whatever that comes up first when adding first that doesn't have any asin issues. If I remember correctly, the Joker Steamroller had multiple asin issues when I added mine and thus required labels. What exactly do you mean by alt-lister?

Alternative list. Usually those sell at a higher price but have a worst rank than the primary . Correct US UPC is usually the primary listing .

If you're just asking this question now, you're probably too late to get in on the action at Amazon.  They instituted a brand gate for Lego back in August and it now requires approval and a fee to sell Lego on Amazon...problem is that approval requires wholesale invoices, which are pretty hard to come by.

For all of us who couldn't make it to BAM today, or who don't have one near but, they politely accommodated with an online sale. 8c239db9bf852632d8e371df75b73abf.jpg

Actually.. will have to see, the 20 off 100 might exclude Lego.
Will find out after midnight.

It looks like it's already active online and they have a handful of sets that are on sale and stack with the 20%.
