Darn work hours. I was excited about Doctor Who sets but ordering them full price from LEGO shop at home earlier with snow globe and double VIP points was nearly the same deal (although hassle of selling the snowglobes).

BTW:   High Speed Train is available now on Amazon:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J4S6PGC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER.  Jumped on it as a Christmas present for my two boys....and possibly myself.  For those who have built this set or have kids who did what is your overall impressions?  I'm more of a Classic Space/monorail fan so this particular "modern" train does interest me.  But I'm more concerned about my kids being interested.  They've never really been into trains with the exception of Thomas and that wasn't a huge thing for either one of them.  Like I said, I think I'm buying this more for myself but I want the kids to enjoy it as well.  Also, possibly a dumb question but can I use the motor components for other trains such as the Creator line or Holiday train?

Honestly, it's a boring train and I don't like the trains with the large panels for the front and back end. You really need 2 carriages for it

$83 is a great price because you can take all of the power functions out and put them into a different train (any train) and subsequently get rid of the passenger train and buy something better like the Horizon Express which is far superior and heavier as well.

@Jeff Mack Rally Car keeps getting updated as in-stock, but I think it's been gone for a couple weeks.
