I saw the original post this morning and ordered/picked up two from my local target (out of the 3 they had on hand).  All the nearby targets in my area had 2-4 sets.  While walking around the store I came back to the lego section and the last set was gone.  

As a bonus I found a 30278 poly bag of Poe's X-Wing in the check out line.  It looked pretty haggard, but all pieces were there.

I checked the Target app and during lunch and all the stores in the LA area were out.

When I got home Slick Deals website had the deal listed on their front page (that post was at 1pm).

Well that's one set I can scratch from my "to buy" list.

I just feel sorry for my son who bought his, full price, from the LEGO store using his own savings money back in September.

The price just went back up to $42.99 on Target.com.  Too bad it's not really in stock.  The one I got yesterday is tempting to be opened.  Must...resist...

Eh, space issues, mate. Plus, I'm still putting together the Dr. Who Set so I don't want to have too many things going on. Otherwise, I'd have to wade through a sea of LEGO. Not that I already don't anyway...

Not to poop in anyone's cheerios, though this set jUST came out in May. I expect it to be hanging around a while, even at the great buy in, it's a LONG time commitment of capital. I mean, 50% is never bad, (Exception: Chima.)  but especially as we enter retirement/clearance season, for me personally, I like to target sets closer to EOL even at worse discounts.  (Pun not intended). 

For personal collection or for gifts, obviously that's smashing.
