October 11, 20169 yr Promos. But a good point. With sets reaching online discounts of 30% even with LEGO Shop at Home's promos & double VIP it makes it harder to justify on larger sets. With that being said the unique promos might be $$ going forward.

Why would anyone pay retail anymore?? I don't think the average consumer pays attention to pricing and discounts and whatnot like resellers do.

I consider myself a savvy shopper, but until I got a few months into the game here on BrickPicker I was ecstatic about getting a few bucks off of MSRP, and gladly paid full price. Now that I've seen the light I'm not buying much for less than 30% off (certain exclusives and must-have items excluded, but even there I'm playing the waiting game - looking at you, Brick Bank!).

October 11, 20169 yr I don't think the average consumer pays attention to pricing and discounts and whatnot like resellers do.I can honestly say with my hand on a bible I have never resold a Lego product. I'm cheap, have two kids 8 and 5 and love a bargain. That being said I've been lurking on this site for a while and this year has been unreal. Ucs tie fighters 125$, many many sets 50% off all at Walmart. Much more I've heard about but didn't see in person. Unless Walmart is straight up losing money.... these sets are being sold under this price which would lead any reasonable person to be wary of full price.
October 11, 20169 yr 20% off select LEGO at toysrus.com. The selection ain't so hot. http://www.toysrus.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=135276sep16&keywords=135276sep16&origkw=135276sep16&sr=1&ppg=96

I would only pay full price if the LEGO Store had a cool exclusive or extra VIP Points. You also have to account that many of the new sets, like SW Rogue One, started out at a 20% discount before being sold again at full retail. Aside from that, patience is starting to become the waiting game.
