December 19, 2024Dec 19 Looks like Costco sold out of most of their Lego at least in my area. I've only seen a couple sets at a few stores I've visited and they are just regular discounts (mainly Poinsettia's & HP Mandrakes) . Haven't seen a trace of their Christmas stuff either. Starting next year, they are also taking out the books section (except for Christmas time) to make room to sell more profitable inventory.

Guessing Costco just cut back their inventory this year?? Just depends on area. We have Poinsettia at $20, Millennium Falcon at $50 and Stone Temple at $40. Got a bunch of Formula One at $20. Lots of others that aren't as interested in such as Lion King.

They had 1000s of their yellow Classics left over last year which may have made them gun shy. I still managed to buy a pallet or 2 this year, but I didn't see the stock or the deals like years past. FWIW, I told a store manager if he dropped the price on a certain set I'd take a pallet and he told me it was rock bottom price set buy their buyers, and if they didn't get that price the buyer/manufacturer (distributor?) would take them back, so he couldn't drop the price. Yet I see some crazy deals from the folks here. I still see Mona Lisas for $79 and Sennas for $49. Definitely a YMMV zone!
December 19, 2024Dec 19 Went to a few Walmarts yesterday and today in Phoenix area and all of them had alot of new clearance: Star Wars. Speed Champions, City, Creator, Technic, Disney, Ninjago, etc. Mainly 30% off, some 40%. Most of the stuff is retiring at the end of the year.
