Everyone had better sales in the past. Very disappointing year. And my sales are down a lot from last year.

Every year, someone states this.  If things were as bad as people claim, after all these years, we would have to pay to see what was on sale.  And no, Prime isn't that.

I have found plenty to spend my money on in the last 2 months that I feel good about. That's pretty much what I think of every time I read comments like that.

I concur but I also purchase as a user not a reseller so there's that.  However, I will say that I miss the 30-50% sales at SAH from a few years back that they had on larger Icon and Ideas such sets.  There were none this year that I saw.  They did have those part of the insiders promo before black Friday I guess so there is that. <edit> nevermind, I guess the insider promo is going through 12/2 as well

That being said, FYI,  Sam's Club has some lego sets at 20%-30%.  Nothing too crazy, largest discount looks to be for the harry potter sorting hat: https://www.samsclub.com/s/lego

For me it's a bit of both.  There have been good discounts, just not on sets that interest me.  At same time, some sets I bought last year are on lesser discount this year compared to last.

The two deals I regret missing out on were the disney one that worked for the x mansion and the home alone from best buy.

Actually, last year SAH had nice BF deals and two decent GWP, which was an improvement from the year before. Target had some good deals last year and great winners the two years before.

i think retailers were careful not to order too much and in the glut of sets there are fewer obvious winners. And with prices quite high to begin with, you need deeper discounts for sets to work out. I can’t think of many sets I’d buy at RRP and feel good about it. In the past, there were always some.

Target has had a large amount of sets over the last two months that could be had for significant discounts, many at 40%-50% off. There were a lot of good buys to be had. Other retailers have had some good opportunities as well. I purchased two sets at msrp from LEGO Shop at Home last night only because I wanted a copy of them and it's not looking like they will be discounted again, but other than those two, nothing else I purchased has been near retail. I kinda dig some of the niche Monkey Kid sets, and only purchased what was retiring with the sale from LEGO Shop at Home last year, so there was a couple more retiring sets I didn't have that didn't get discounted this year I went ahead and purchased.

I would say Target had a pretty decent winner last year as well. Bird Of Paradise sat in stock for a little while at $60 last Black Friday, and it quickly jumped to $200 in early 2024.

Kohls currently running a 40 percent off sale on certain sets.......Good for folks including me who have Kohls $$$ to spend.....Plus earn Kohls $$$ and get rewards if u use Kohls Card....Stuff is going rather quick

Did Walmart not have a discounted box of LEGO basic blocks and parts as they usually do at Black Friday?

They used to always have those 1500 piece boxes for $25 and later, could be found reduced as low as $5.  But they haven't done that for the last 2-3 years.  Resellers would go in and try to buy entire pallets of them.  I still have 6-8 left after all these years.  I was going to recommend an 1800 piece set (11033) at LEGO Shop at Home for $54 but it has sold out the last few hours.

***Edited to add: WalMart has the 11033 for $60, if that isn't too rich.

Now if only someone would price match...LOL

100! I will no longer order Lego from BB! People complain about Kohls but BB is the absolute worst. Even if they have a fresh Gem Mint box in store they will slap a huge label directly on the front of the box for your pickup order, and don’t even go with their shipping.

I ordered from there once and even ship local pickup/ship to store.....Can't remember what it was but when it arrived even the employees were laughing about how bad the damage was and looked at me and said "I'm guessing you don't want this?"....Only lego i buy from BB is the ones in store locally and the selection usually sucks

And my BF kohls orders were actually shipped in large kohls boxes so i can't complain....May have to show pics for proof...LOL....Hard to believe

I had zero issues with Kohls this year. I stopped ordering from BB deliver to store around a year ago when they started sending returns that were “employee inspected” per the packaging tape all over them. BB is the worst don’t know how they are still in business with their chronically empty parking lots and their employees just sitting around on their phones. It must be some venture capital firm shorting them out of existence like TRU.

Anyway, we still have the 10% off Target GC deal this Saturday 12/7.
