Actually, there have been some others, just have to be selective. Seinfeld and Monster Jam come to mind recently. I passed on everything last year. Hard to pass up the deep discounts before Christmas at select stores. Hagrid's Hut for $17 but then was such a long hold. Did really well with the brick storage boxes. Definitely a mixed bag, but mostly a pass. Most those the stuff is just too new. Edited August 4, 20241 yr by gmpirate

August 5, 20241 yr I don't live near a Costco or I would have stocked up on those $50 R2D2s that some stores had. SAM's Club doesn't discount much LEGO but, at least when they do, it doesn't wreck the market. I've been selling a bunch of 76216s (Iron Man Armory) at $54 ea on BL. They were $17 ea at SAM's a little over a year ago.

That all sounds like BS from someone that didn't try too hard and is now bitter. I started with absolutely nothing in my pocket, spent 11 years in the military learning a trade, got out and worked hard (and not using the trade that I learned) and retired at 50 years old. I'm not rich by a damn shot but I made smart investments, drove VW Bugs and Ford Focus's when my friends were driving BMWs and Lexus. All most people know how to do is spend, spend, spend. Being savvy with your money is a long forgotten skill. If you want to blame anyone, blame Madison Avenue advertisers that tell us that we will be smart and get all the 🐈 if we just use their product. Meanwhile, I will sit here being happy with my small-but-comfortable house and my 2013 Honda Fit, both long paid off. That's how that I can operate a BrickLink store full-time for fun and take 4-6 weeks off each year traveling the world. The "elite" has done nothing to me other than show me how to save and how not to waste money. And I am about as common as they come. ***Updated to add: To get you started on looking for opportunities to improving your finances, let me offer this $100 tidbit. It works because I used it. If you have Rakuten, go to their page. Click on the Western Alliance ad below. Add a $100 towards a CD earning 5.21%. Within 24 hours, Rakuten will add $100 to your account. At the end of three months, either withdraw the $105.15 or roll it over into a different CD. Meanwhile, you made $100 while investing. You are welcome. Edited August 5, 20241 yr by raindog

I think he was referring to the fact that only the "elite" make money by investing in the market. Maybe that was a joke. Either way, personally I agree that anyone can make money in the market, the longer you hold then pretty much you are guaranteed to "win" in the long term. Just need to be disciplined enough. There are folks that get "rich/comfortable" quick but that's minority of folks. Just continue to invest and ignore the monthly and even short term YoY fluctuations. If you're in the market for 20+ yrs then these blimps don't matter. Just my two cents, if it's even worth that much... To get back on track, Capital One has a 24% CB offer for Lego SAH non-exclusives but it is 9% for exclusives as well, so not too shabby. Email I got had it good through 08/08 I believe but my guess that it is targeted. Only issue I have with them is these targeted CB offers don't automatically register, at least not with my account. Make sure to take screenshots/document accordingly so you can dispute the lack of CB hitting your account after 90 days. They don't make any modifications until the 90 days is up so I suspect they are counting on a bunch of folks to just "forget" and not dispute missing CB... definitely not this crowd I would think

I did pose the question to customer service so we will see, unless anyone else has experience with them? I have used C1 a handful times only and every time it's been a pain since I had to wait 90 days to dispute missing CB. Haven't had issues with getting them to add however, but the amounts have only been in the $20-$30 ranges
