Is it me or is this set bland? The best part about it is the box art. On closer inspection the minifigures and pieces are standard and not exciting. Best of luck for those grabbing it, doesn't seem like a great investment to me 😕

Econ 101  - Its not about the demand but the demand supply factor. There are sub 20 sellers on amazon. In the new age of 1700 sellers per item that aint bad at all.

The fairground theme is more about the engineering designs of the set, than the pieces and minis.   Carousel, and Ferris Wheel have gone past 2x to 2.5 RRP within 2 years after they retired.   Carousel was pretty good, and there's never a large amount of investors in this theme like there are in Star Wars, etc.  Fairground Mixer was the only one that i'd say was a mediocre investment so far.

I tend to agree but I also found the original Haunted House kind of generic as well. The most appealing aspect is that it reminds me the "Tower of Terror" at Disney.  Regardless I need to save for next year's LotR Barad Dur tower which I fully expect will put this set to shame from a pure aesthetic point of view.
