Not a deal, but curious if two boxes with different assortment numbers would complete a set.

In my experience, no.

I have to agree.  The last time someone asked about how to ignore the Max Profit messages, he was piled on so hard that I felt really bad for him.  And kept my mouth shut.  I know that writing the code and maintaining it for Max is a huge job and I thank the author.  However, I find it very off-putting that 90% of the time that I get a new message notification that it is from Max Profit.  If it was possible to block him, like a regular user, it would help a lot.  I'm sensitive to the fact that many folks claim to use it a lot.  However, I've been here just a tad over 10 years and I don't know that I have ever used one of the sales in its post that I didn't already know about.

Again, this is my personal opinion, not meant as a slam towards the creator of Max at all.

I was at the park the other day playing b-ball and there was this one weirdo that NO ONE wanted to play with but he had next, so no one knew what to do.

Finally, after waiting for a half hour, slowly everyone let him have the entire court to himself, and they picked a different court to play on. Worked out well for everyone (except that guy)

I'm not sure what this story (parable?) is trying to say, or how it relates to the current discussion or forum subject.  But, since you told it, I have to ask.  In the long run, would it have not been less cruel with the weirdo to either play with him and beat him down, making him go to the back of the que?  Or, telling him to FO and to get away from the court?  Either way, it saves him the embarrassment of standing on a lone court while everyone moves to an adjacent one.  If you are going to embarrass someone, I see no need to make it obvious to everyone on the entire playground when a word in his ear may piss him off but have the same effect of getting rid of him.

If he was timid, ppl woulda felt bad for him. He was uber aggressive, cursing @ everyone, and generally being obnoxious. I've never seen more universal disdain for a baller. And he was told his behaviour was outrageous, so trust me, fault was all his own.

Let's leave the main deals thread to max and make a Non-max alternative deals thread.

It's funny how Max is getting personified. He's a bot. But what if that wasn't true... imagine that Max is a real human being with a passion for sharing deals, and this dude is doing everything manually -- every 45 minutes he's manually checking prices on every Amazon product page, then updating the spreadsheet (one by one) to post here.

If this is true, then everything must remain constant, Hi Max! If it is not, then Max gets the whole court, and a "Non-Max Alternative" thread must begin.

lol, yeah it wasnt a parable, true story happened last month. Max isnt  bad! But, like everyone has pointed out, we're all here pretty much hunting for the "atypical sales" not the perma-sale 20% type deals. Especially these days, that strategy no longer works like it once did. So max's utility isnt what it once was. And he buries the more interesting deals.

Not sure if I can post here

Slightly off topic - Does costco allow sales tax refunds for resellers?

In store it's no different than anything else you buy.  I believe online you have to call after the sale.  Google it and you will get a hit what to do.

In-store they do, provided you have a business membership. They'll also allow you to buy without quantity limits (they may limit you to ~3 of a specific SKU using a regular membership. YMMV). Bring a copy of your resale certificate to your local club location and member services will help you out.

No mysteries.  Just open a business account with your reseller license and buy whatever you want.

Think Amazon will match???

they already have. at least the sets i was checking out.

one good thing about this sale compared to other target sales is that the sale and specific sets are listed in the weekly ad.  at the top it explicitly states that prices are good instore or online.  most of the time the sale price is not good instore and you have to get a management price match their own website (idiotic!) as an exception which can be ok for one item but not for 5 or more.  i greatly prefer to buy instore because then i can be assured of a mint quality box.  mint box from target via shipping is kind of like not living in reality.

also they have the buy 3 household items totalling somewhere between $45 and 60 and get a $10 gc so a few round trips in and out to get some decent deals.
