Aren't most items on retirement lists?  I never pay attention to them.  I buy what I want to invest in now, not at the end when quantities are limited and everyone is trying to buy.  Buying using retirement lists is probably my #1 characteristic of a novice buyer.  Of course, that's just, like, my opinion, man.

Amen!  Got two at that price.  Now, it's hard to buy more, even at $300.

Re: retirement lists I agree they are not something to rely on but I assume you still factor in potential retirement into your investment decisions? Or do you bias towards other factors driving up demand?

Do you have the Costco number?

The set rang as 2446700 Lego Assortment.

Yes and no to all.  Each set's life is different.  I treat it so.  And that philosophy can hurt.  I started buying Hogwarts Trains and Great Halls on day 1.  Now, I wished that I had 50-75% less than what I have.  I haven't bought one in over a year unless I see a huge discount.  But nothing is worse than what happened with the 10224 Town Hall.  Yesterday, they were everywhere.  Today, gone.  I'd rather have too many of a set than have to fight with collectors, sellers, resellers and store limits, all at the same time, near the set's end.  And people that won't buy a set that is 6 month's old at 40% off because it doesn't appear on someone's retirement (dream) list totally buffalo me.  My philosophy isn't for everyone.  I have a small warehouse, dedicated to LEGO and I also sell on Bricklink.  But it works for me.

I agree 40% is 40% regardless of the timing. Trick sometimes is figuring out why it's 40% as sometimes it's just because the MRP is out of wack so I try to track my own RRP as well. I tend to consider retirement or at least scarcity a little more as I'm space and budget limited but in an ideal world it's right set at right price regardless of retirement.

Target is running "$10 Target GiftCard with $50 LEGO purchase" on select sets.

A few double stack opportunities. Looks like the best is Shuttle 60226 20% + gift card. Also 75935 Baryonyx and 76125 Hall of Armor have the same.

21151 and 75892 have smaller discounts. Blue and green base plates are always good too.

Sith Art set is not on their eBay site though. Good call on the rest!

More price drops at Target, in the 50 earns a 10 gift card deal
