Agreed.  Probably the best this year is walmart and lego shop at home. Target took the prize last year with at-at's in the lower 80's and cantinas in the low 50's.

My local walmart had 2 IST's for 74.00, so I went and grabbed them.  Both boxes were surprisingly in pristine shape.  So, you might want to check walmart.com and do a local search at your nearest stores.  I'm tempted to go on lego.com and put in for one sith infiltrator and maybe a resistance transporter just to get the extra points along with the discounts, but other than that, it's a relatively lackluster May the 4th.

i bought a bunch from walmart at the price as well.

today target has ISTfor $82.99 - 5% red card = $78.84 + $10 Gift card purchases over $50 = $68.84 before tax.

I have 3 waiting for me along with some Tie Advanced Prototypes  in nearby tax-free NH where I have to go pickup some lumber later today.

does anyone know if the target $10 gift card purchase is working on instore Star Wars LEGO purchases?  the store i'm going to later has Naboo fighters marked down to $39.99 and was going to see about picking up some of those with minifigure packs to get to $50 if it was in store too.    i guess i'll find out when i get there.

Just left my local Walmart with 3 IST for 74. I think that's going to be the best price..unless you are in the right place/right time. I live in a heavily populated area I know it won't go any lower

Yeah I bought 3 at 49 but think I need to get just a few more myself.

If you can get them for $49, by all means get more - they're $74 in my area.

Plenty around me had it marked at $74, one at $49 but oos, curious to know if the $74 will go even lower in the next couple of days or maybe weeks?

Not bad, if you include the gift card as part of the discount.  Just to make my math easier, i'd apply it to the set I would spend the card on.

My guess is the July clearance event will have them back to around that price and they may dip a little lower at select walmarts.  Sets like this I wouldn't expect will go much lower because people will be grabbing them, unless you are lucky to get them at 49 which some have reported, but that seems few and far between..   I suspect these will become scarce by fall, and at best they may have one more run left in them, but that could be a big if, with the Rogue One and Summer wave sets coming down the pipe..  I remember during november of last year, these ran out of stock at most placed, and then another run happened I think in December, and they've been on the market since quite regularly.  Last year, I think the last of the production runs for the AT-AT, ISD, and Cantina were over by spring. I suspect, all the sets with the 2015 stormtrooper packaging are also ramping down on production runs.  Now is truly the time to grab those if you want to stock up.  A few more months from now they will get scarcer and scarcer.

I have watched the prices on these for a bit, and I haven't seen any go below 74 in my area.  That's the cheapest.

If the gift card was a "save 20% on your next purchase" voucher - would you apply the 20% to the purchase you got the voucher with, or to the purchase you make when you use the voucher? Whatever your answer, I think you should account for those free GCs the same way, and for VIP points/EBay Bucks as well.

Then again, it's just accounting, and do whatever makes you feel best about your purchase - just don't do both or you'll have a nasty surprise when you reconcile your books :)

Has WM been restocking these?  They were first clearanced in my area in December at $74 and then went down to $49 in the February reductions.  I wasn't expecting them to be restocked after that.

That hardly makes it a good deal.  I can't sell an unofficial set for $250 on eBay.

well, you need to invest in a box printing company then

I don't know other areas but I checked (through the app) all WMs in my area and only one has any left (and at $82, not $74).

Not to encourage/discourage anyone from making their own choices, but I find IST at $74 a bit more than a bit "meh". They don't seem to be flying off the shelves at $74 in my region, and on the website they are not much more at $82 without the driving and time. This price can basically be had on any TRUTH.

I feel like the set may be a tad overpriced to begin with, it just doesn't scream $100 to me. I think it is an interesting set with some decent investment potential, and that's part of the problem with it - It's stood out to a lot of people for a long time. It's a quiet time of year, and I think that's why it is getting more attention than it possible deserves. Really for me, for investment potential, I probably won't be interested unless they are <60. If it never gets that far, and I miss the boat, so be it - I'll be content spending my money elsewhere. But I am skeptical the profit will really be there soon enough for a $75 entry.

I get your skepticism.  People are latching onto it because it's Star Wars, OT, a nice build, and hasn't been revisited very often.  Being 20% off on Shop at Home seems to indicate it will be gone later this year and I think many see similarities to the AT-AT.  I doubt the performance will be the same since the high price of the former will lead to resellers stocking up on this one, but I still think it's a safe bet to do pretty well if you have some patience.

This 1 is a gamble. The movie scene itself was okay but the ship doesn't represent a significant role in the movie, its not a hero or villain ship, but only used as a transport. The kit is also void of C3PO.

For the pro side, the original Imperial Shuttle 7166 did extremely well. 7166 had the Emperor and his guards and the scene in Return of the Jedi was both awe and fear inspiring, for the size of the ship and hanger bay and troops lined up to greet the evil Emperor.  If they had put the Emperor and his guards in this kit then it would be a winner (and of course a remake). I also think this kit is overpriced at $100, but it goes nicely with an overpriced Ewok Village.

I think the difference between last year and this year is that the sets from last year had more original trilogy options.  This year, we are down to basically 2 to choose from that could retire soon.

But I still think this is a safe bet too.  Many had the same skepticism about the 2014 Summer wave sets and by the November they were gone from most places, and many missed the boat on stocking a lot of them, because they thought they would still be around until summer 2016.  But at 74.00 on this set, you can't lose.  You'll easily make your money back...  It's one of the few sets i'd say is more solid than the rest. I have more hope in this one, then say Battle on Takodana, or Resistance Troop Transporter.

I find it easier to just match a receipt to a inventory transaction on my spreadsheet, then putting in the memo section "see order# for the gift card discount received on purchase", and then having to increase the price on the transaction that I used the gift card on to balance the books.  Too much math that would make my head spin..  I do the same if I use points or get a TRU reward.  Whatever the receipt says, that's my buy-in.

I don't have tax free status when I purchase, so sales tax would through another monkey wrench on that.  Cladner lives in a tax free state area, so that's an advantage to him.

The Imperial Shuttle is not an AT-AT.  With that said, AFOL's seem to be in love with it which is important for future resale.  I just personally think that we are at a peak with all things Star Wars.  If I were investing I would put money into the Sandcrawler right now.  It appears to be on it's way out.

Blasphemy!  The only hope for the Rebel Alliance was aboard that transport.  That puts it in the same league as the Tantive IV, Millennium Falcon, and Red 5.

I agree I would not expect AT-AT performance from the IST. I'd put it on par with 75055 but with many more resellers hoarding the IST it will be even slower going. Great buy around $50.

weeeeeell, let's not get too excited...the 3 other ships you mention are hero ships or had action on them. Tantive IV is the opening scene for the entire Star Wars mania circa 1977, and has a cool explosion, a fight scene, plus the introduction to several main characters.  Where is the swooshibility of the Imperial Shuttle Transport? Do transports even swoosh? It doesn't fight? The heroes are all dressed in Endor camo so you cant use them elsewhere. The scene itself was short and uninspiring. You could however put the Emperor and his guards which are easily available and make it an awesome kit.

I just think it's a gamble. The box is pretty though.

I just don't get this line of thinking...you think that it's a good buy at $59, but not at $75?  What is it about that $16 gap that makes all the difference?

How is this set overpriced? It has almost 1k pieces, a gang of minifigs and some large pieces. I agree that it won't reach much more than 2x RRP because of the horde and everyone be hatin' on Return of the Jedi, but I think it's one of the stronger sets that Lego has put out for Star Wars.

yoyo has Naboo Fighter for under $37 if you buy 2 or more (other stuff available but not much on sale) using starwars15.  Tax kills it for me but if your tax free and stocking up its a decent deal, with no real limits.
