Personally, I doubt the average consumer would even notice. I was in a newly opened store today (they usually have really high prices so I go there looking for deals when stuff is EOL). They were out of all the old stock and only had new. About 10% of their stock had stickers. The big white background really does stand out on the shelf. However, the more people see LEGO sets in the stores with the stickers, I think it'll take the edge off. I just wish my local Target and Walmart would load up on stickered sets. That would really take the edge off.

It's been so bad that I get to the LEGO isle and think, why did I even come here? I swear, it's the same sets sitting there week after week. Including a couple of constraction sets (at full price)... lol.

Nothing anywhere.
June 24, 20205 yr Their new piece counts on the European versions of the boxes and the UPC codes are different as well.

June 24, 20205 yr 75933 Jurassic World T-Rex Transport (retired in 2019) came back in stock a couple days ago at Amazon (limit 27) and Walmart (limit 2) for $54.99 and is still available. This has been out of stock everywhere for the past like 6 months and has recently been selling for $90-$100 on Amazon. Not sure where or how Amazon & Walmart ended up with a whole ton of new units, but it seems like a pretty good buy at these prices for a set that has been retired for 6 months and has previously been unavailable anywhere. I got some of the ones that I ordered today and they don't have stickers on them, so it's not as if they were shipping overstock from EU to the US or anything like that. Maybe the Mexico factory was cleaning out during the shutdown and found truckload that never got sent out??

Just picked up a bunch of HP sets (75948 Clock Tower, $26.97 ; 75955 Hogwarts Express, $23.97; 70423 Paranormal Bus, $17.97). Every Target near me was pretty picked clean of these specific sets so I wasn't the only one with the idea. Ethics thread and not a deal I would advertise to the world. They are not supposed to match clearance prices, and their T&Cs exclude it (AFAIK). You just got lucky.....

Especially after they sell out and those late to the game realize they can't get one anymore except for aftermarket. Haven't seen any news on a new 2020 Christmas set this year. Still a few months out from that news. Also, they use to be Creator Expert, I wonder if they'll continue the Christmas theme under the new 'adult' theme. Edited June 25, 20205 yr by MusiKyle
