For what it's worth Target has a sale on the hidden side ghost train on their app.  $20 off the $79 set.  It's on the app so I'm not sure how to send it.

Seems glitchy. Just got an order through that wasn't cancelled. Fingers crossed from here on out.

Everyone, just in case - check the list out!  I did yesterday, and was absolutely blown away.  My local B&Ms seem to *never* have deals in stock (********, etc.)  Yet somehow, one of the Gamestops about 15 minutes away from me showed both the Hidden Side bus, and train, in stock!  I ordered for instore pickup.  $44 w/ tax, for $140 of Lego!

Thank you so much. I wasn't able to secure any online orders with Gamestop, but I did give Target a chance to price match the only 3 I could find in stock for shipping. And they did! All less than $40 MSRP sets, but hey, good margins.

Can I ask which 3 sets it was ???

Gentle reminder that while you may get them to do it, price matching clearance/OOS items is almost always against any retailer's stated price match policies and generally frowned upon by many in the community. Visit ye olde Ethics thread for more thoughts if you are so inclined.

Target will price match anything from Gamestop if it is in stock on Gamestop website. Since none of these sets are actually in stock it is really dependent upon whether or not the cashier cares enough to check.

You certainly can! It was 75965 rise of Voldemort, 75946 Hungarian horntail, and 75958 Beaux carriage .

Right. But are all of these strictly clearance? Game stops site doesn't say anything about them being on clearance, the sets are small enough that the disparity in price is not that crazy. I mean if we're talking great halls, clock towers, millennium falcons that's pretty clear cut. I think the night bus is the only one that says clearance.

I'm not going to push either way too strongly, but I would argue that there was no deception, I simply asked if Target would do it. This differs from say buying full price sets at one Walmart and trying to do a return rebuy at another Walmart whose clearance price is rock bottom. Again, I know you had a good intentions and neither of us want to open a can of worms because there's a perfectly beautiful thread for that. 🙂 I appreciate you pointing that out, but it didn't cross my mind that way until you said something. As always... I should err on the side of caution. Going to brush up on that thread now.

Edit: just got done with some light reading. I read Target's policy as well. Everything seemed to line up, I'm guessing they went for it because it was in stock in some stores. If GameStop had clearance marked on the page I'm sure it would have been denied. As I mentioned it would have been more obvious on a large value set. Most of these aren't even retired are they? The obvious question that one might ask though for any of us considering this, is if the large sets were in stock at Target would we still try this? That's where I thank you for pointing it out with the little ones, because I would definitely see it as a problem getting $75 off a $100 set.

Thank you for posting this.  I don't think I've ever been able to find a sale price like this around me.  I had to find a store 30 mi away that had anything in stock, but I was able to pick up a hidden side bus and a hidden side train $45 combined w/ tax.

Not throwing shade or picking on you specifically, I just know how these sorts of things have a way of snowballing. ;) Trying to get in front of it. And I do get it, totally.

Certainly! Like I said, I would rather have something like this pointed out while it's small. And yes, there were a handful of us commenting and probably even more viewing that this would be constructive for.

If the price ends in .97 it is a clearance item at GameStop.

Noted, did not know that. Thank you.

why they appear to have so few in terms of stock in various sets on Amazon, I know it's due to the pandemic, but is there anyone here have the information about when will they fill the stock on Amazon, it has been quite oftent out of stock for a while

LEGO must've sent a nice restock overnight.... I got a couple "shipped" notifications for some SAH backorders and now these two are in stock @ Target's site:

75947 for $47.99 - https://www.target.com/p/lego-harry-potter-hagrid--39-s-hut--buckbeak--39-s-rescue-building-set-with-hippogriff-figure-75947/-/A-75667120

75957 for $32.49 - https://www.target.com/p/lego-harry-potter-the-knight-bus-75957-triple-decker-toy-bus-building-kit-403pc/-/A-75667026

LEGO North America facilities are in MEXICO.  Currently closed.  Maybe mid-June reopening, but then still a couple weeks for production and shipping.

The Mexico plant closure should not affect the UK supply chain yet the UK LEGO Shop at Home store showing likewise "backorder" and "TOOS"...there's more to the shortage than just a plant closure.

Why wouldn't the Mexico plant closure affect UK stock? US stock is still coming in from somewhere... probably a majority from Europe. So they are cutting normal European stock levels to supply the US.

My bad, I didn't see about OP was in UK.

However, from I'm aware, only the Chinese facilities are currently operational (and only reopened in last 2-3 week).  So it's a GLOBAL Supply Chain ISSUE!.

sure...I get that, but what kind of business sense does it make to ship from UK factory to US (for same price sale) than to sell to customers directly in UK?

only to have caused a shortage in UK as well?

I don't think LEGO gets anything by appeasing a small number of US customers while also annoying their UK base.

All this type of reasoning goes out the window if different plants make different pieces...then any factory going down affects all.
